LOL, oops.
But yeah, I was wondering the same thing, who she was and why was she given that gig? She wasn't any good.

NPH was being really douchey on twitter throughout the night but this one especially made me mad.
Obviously it's hard to remember everyone you meet but it was completely unnecessary for him to tweet about it like that. And the stuff about her saying "like" and "oh my god" a lot? Just ughhh.
Not sure where he is getting that "holier than though" vibe from...
I am almost certain that that entire exchange of theirs on Twitter is a joke, considering the fact that her husband worked on how I met your mother for five seasons

I think if it was a joke, Bloom wouldn't have responded the way she did. I'm a big fan of hers and love Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and I admit she wasn't that great backstage. However, that sort of gig plus Bloom's brand of humor just doesn't mesh well. That said, this is an awkward situation on NPH's part...

No it's not. She liked a tweet that said:
"You're a talented goddess and your unbridled, unfiltered enthusiasm is my favorite part of the Tonys. F*CK that misogynistic, gender-coded dismissive bull****ter-y. You shine."
It's not a joke; he and Burtka seemed pretty sour last night. He could've just asked offline or looked it up, but he feigned ignorance to prompt his followers to laugh at her.

Yeah he was serious because his response to Bloom's very mature response was "thanks for jogging my memory" or something like that. Who bothers to tweet something like that in the first place? And it's crazy that he didn't realize who she was considering Dan Gregor was heavily involved in HIMYM
huh it seemed considering the two they would know each other but in this case wow he sounds kind of like a douche. oh well, i love Rachel Bloom and find her to be hilarious and wonderful whereas NPH i find exhausting and one-note. that was also pretty rude of him.
Til now I thought NPH was a classy guy.
Bitching about the Tonys on Twitter -- and then basically admitting it's because you're not hosting -- is not a cute look for NPH. Dude, you're rich, successful and ubiquitous enough as it is. Get over it.
I've never heard great things about experiences friends of mine have had with him, but have kept my mouth shut because I assumed it was just gossip and people wanting to be catty. It still could be, but this isn't a great addition to my collection of NPH stories...

Why is he asking for birthday gifts on his twitter? A joke?

I like her and didn't realize that was even her until near the end of the show. It's not like they put her name up onscreen every time she appeared, and I don't even remember them mentioning her by name initially, although I imagine they did.

Yeah, wait, that is weird. What is that about?

I thought you guys had to be misreading things regarding his birthday, until I looked it up for myself. He actually put the address of the UPS store for people to send him things?
I had no clue who she was, and they definitely did not tell us in any obvious manner. But yea it was a douchey thing to say..
And would a star actor on a major network TV show really have much contact with one of the writers, let alone his wife? I may not know anything about TV production but it seems unlikely.

Well, she did say that they had met many times. Those meetings may or may not have been because of the HIMYM connection, but regardless, they happened.
And she’s a pretty big TV star herself these days.

And they even shared a scene together in HIMYM. That's not a big of a deal because he shot like a million scenes for that show, but it provided some entertainment in that Twitter thread where people kept posting stills from that scene. And I do think stars do interact with the writers especially writers who worked on the show for five years and wrote some of your character's most important episodes. They don't see each other every day or anything, but it's not like they would be strangers.
I multi-tasked at the beginning: did they actually introduce her?
She was relatively poorly lit, and I struggled to figure out who she was. I thought it might have been Krysta Rodriguez initially.
I agree NPH shouldn’t have tweeted comments about her identity and her speech patterns. He probably could have called someone and bitched privately.

my experience watching TV about TV shows has led me to believe the actors on a show would probably know the writers on the show so it seems unlikely he wouldn't know her husband... and then the fact is they appeared in a scene together and she's now a TV star herself so him not knowing who she is (and then posting about that fact) just seems odd.
Don’t actors do a reading with the writers and directors first before shooting scenes?
