I've been on and off with Nene for years. Sometimes she's a lot of fun, sometimes she has a terrible attitude. But I think this is a great fit for her, and I'd be curious to see her in the role.

I think it's strange, though, that she's announced only through December 20. I would think it'd be a good move to keep her name going through the holidays/New Year's, but that's me.

Chicago has been stunt casting since before the birth of Moses. It has been uber successful for them so why should they stop. More power to them for being this smart.

NeNe is smart casting for this role in my opinion, not to mention she's THE most successful "Housewife" so she's got a fan base.

Well to be fair she's also been on Celebrity Apprentice, Dancing With The Stars, Glee (recurring), The New Normal (series regular), and Cinderella on Broadway. She's done a lot more than just Housewives, although it's responsible for launching her career.

OK, I guess I did see her on The New Normal then, but that role doesn't make me want to rush out and see Chicago. Then again, few things would.

She can carry a tune, and she's been taking vocal lessons to prepare for this (per her Twitter). Mama Morton is actually a straight forward role to sing, we are just used to many Mamas spicing it up with riffs and runs. But listen to Mary McCarty and Marcia Lewis, "When You're Good To Mama" is a very simple melody. "Class" is probably more difficult. I'm sure Nene will be better than Wendy Williams.
