anyone else notice Awkwafina is no longer in the cast? seems like Kevin Chamberlin is in that role instead. kind of interesting, i remember them making a bit of noise with them swapping the gender for her to play that Sheldon part

Awkwafina had to back out because of scheduling conflicts.

Interestingly, the role of Alyssa was originally going to be played by Ariana Grande but due to her Sweetener World Tour she had to drop out. Then stage star Ariana DeBose (who's also cast as Anita in West Side Story) replaced her shortly afterwards.

Honestly that was for the best because I think Grande would've been a little bit distracting in the role. I love that DeBose is in 2 well known movie musical projects that will utilize her talents.
