New "Emile de Becque" in South Pacific?#1

Who will play the role of Emile de Becque after Paulo Szot leaves "South Pacific"? He is scheduled to leave by the end of this month right? I want to buy tickets for the show and not sure if I should try to see it while Paulo Szot is still playing or wait for the new cast.

Well he did win the Tony for his performance, and who knows when and if he'll ever be back to Broadway, so don't cheat yourself out of missing the performance. H

He was pretty good, but I wasn't blown away by him, but it'd be hard to find someone else who has that commanding stage presence and chemistry with O'hara.

I agree he was wonderful and very much deserved the tony award. Dont miss his performance. His voice carries his songs to a new height and his scenes with O'hara are beautiful and touching.

Szot was sensational. We need him on Broadway. He should stay for good! He has a voice as pure and beautiful as Barbara Cook's and a magnetic stage presence.

With Matt Morrison on January 4th, if I'm not mistaken.

How long have they been doing the show? I think I'll go back to see Morrison in the role.

The show started at the beginning of March, 2008. Paulo Szot was sensational...I was very moved by his magnificent performance. His closing of the first act is up there with favorite theatrical moments.

I thought Szot was stupendous as well. Just command on stange. Riveting really.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
