I am not looking forward to this one at all. I don't really think that a third film version of Annie is necessary. The cast sounds like a talented group, but I don't see the story working all that well in a modern setting and I am leery of updating the score. Benjamin Stacks is very clever pun though, and definitely works better in modern times than than the dated pun Oliver Warbucks in the here and now.

Kad, the '80s ARE modern day to Roxy.

I can't wait to see how they film the Occupy Wall Street crowd rioting at Benjamin Stacks' mansion. Oh wait, I bet it won't be that realistic.
I really don't see why people are freaking out about these changes. There hasn't even been a freakin trailer yet. I'm not completely thrilled on some of the casting but I really am excited to see a modern day Annie. Where is Besty when you need him?!

MORE SHOTS FROM THE SET.... Please do not tell me they are turning Sandy into a stuffed toy. Jesus Christ.
There were no dogs in the 1980s.

Do I even want to know what Warbucks does to Annie in this version? And out on the 1980s streets of New York, no less. What's the age rating going to be for this?
I originally thought this would be an A Bomb of a movie
With the stuffed dog I must now say it will be a Plutonium bomb of a movie.

When will we get to see Annie and can of minute maid grape soda?

To calm Roxy down a bit, the song he's worried about has been modified a bit and is now called "A New Deal For The FDR Drive"
The stuffed dog could just be a prop stand-in.

What's going on with his suit lapels? Is this a thing now? Billionaires popping their suit collars?
Is that Air Jordan in the new logo?

For all movie showings after 9pm on Monday-Thursday, Annie will be played by this other actress.
This thread is hilarious!!
I'm not thrilled about the changes either, mainly in regards to the score, which is so absolutely perfect and iconic.
To me, the "orphans" look like a Gap Kids ad. The stuffed dog...I am speechless. I hated the 1982 film.....ok...hated is too strong I suppose. I was disappointed. I cannot even think about seeing this thing.

Ever heard of props? I can imagine the scene where Annie calls Sandy a few times and he does not listen/stands still is easier to film this way from over shoulder, a real dog would run to her every time she calls him. You won't notice it's a prop in the final product. We probably only see a blurred ear in the corner of the screen.

Obviously you are not a billionaire, Gothampc. Nor do you even read GQ. Probably better to keep your outdated ideas to yourself.
