There won't be any replacements as this revival of GREASE is expected to close at their final performance.

If this is true, then why are they selling tickets beyond July?

Numerous shows continue to sell tickets and then announce a closing date upsetting people who have tickets for performances AFTER the show closes.
Its been happening for years.

I don't agree that it will close. It is still making too much money.

I stand corrected. I had NO idea the show was doing the business its been doing. Its most recent weekly tally had GREASE at 97%. A percentage every show DREAMS of doing.
This is what one gets from assuming things due mostly in part to heresay comments.

I haven't heard anything but I doubt they're going to do much extensive stunt casting. GREASE sells well simply because it is GREASE ... so maybe they'll just bump up their standbys?
Not entirely sure...
But the show is not closing when Max and Laura leave.

Thanks for your correction! In my opinion, Grease will be around for a long time...with or without Max and Laura as long as it continues to fill the house! Can't wait to see who is cast.

Not trying to drag this old horse out again, but the original 1972 Broadway Sandy, Carole Demas, was a brunette. The character became locked-in as a blonde after the 1978 film-version.

Are Max and Laura being replaced? Their contracts might be renewed, or sent on the road with the tour?

I know that Carol was a brunette, but unfortunately I was not able to see the stage production before I saw the movie. So in MY head, Sandy has to be a blonde!
Have a great day!

The whole reason for this revival was the TV reality show.
Without those actors and the terrible reviews I don't see a long life just because it's GREASE.

Despite the reviews, the show is making tons of money. Let's all remember that the critics aren't the ones buying the tickets. It will run a long time because people loved the movie, and when they come to New York to see a show, they know they will be entertained by this show no matter what.

Perhaps they'll extend.

I believe Laura has said she wants to do the tour.

According to the Grease Boards which I read this morning, Max and Laura's contracts have not been renewed.

This should have never been revived in the first place. They need to survive on stunt casting because the need to fill the void Max and Laura emptied.

Despite all the naysayers, Grease continues to do well.

Just put some other untalented ungrateful people in the show and I am sure it will continue to sell well.

Max and Laura were both offered the tour but turned them down. I know Laura was considering it for quite a while, and hubby Nate was also offered a role in the production but they already have a few things cooking in New York once her contract is up so they both decided to stay in NY instead.
