I wonder why no one ever mentioned Kate coming back? What ever happened to her anyhow?

No one mourns Kate Reinders?

"How is Kendra right for Glinda? Her voice is grating, she has weak comic timing, and she goes for the cheap laughs."
Her voice is grating TO YOU. I happen to love it. I've seen Kendra twice over in SF and I believed her Glinda to be true and deep. I didn't see her going overboard for laughs at all. Perhaps she's changed her portrayal over time? Either way, I found her to be a delight.

Yes, Kendra's voice is grating to me. For what it's worth, I saw her in May 2005.
I saw Kate Reinders in August 2005 and adored her. She wasn't overly spastic. Her hyperness seemed to come from the fact that she was genuinely having fun, whereas Kendra's seemed forced. Kate brought a lot of depth to the character and her singing was beautiful.

I felt the same about Kendra and I saw her on Broadway in May 2007. I haven't seen Wicked here in SF yet, partially because I want to wait until she leaves.

I will be the first to say this, as it is almost guaranteed to happen. How do you know for sure, what is your source?

I won't reveal my source, but i was talking with a friend who is in the show and one of the other cast-members sat down and started talking with us and they brought up the fact that Alli was going to be replaced by an Erin Mackey who was with the chicago company.
The conversation was a lot funnier in it's full context, but this was the friday before Nicole left.

I saw Kendra on Broadway and thought she was wonderful!

From what I've seen of Megan's Glinda, her performance got progressively worse over the years. Especially in LA. She should be originating roles anyway. She has too much talent for it to be wasted.

I can only hope Kendra will leave the San Francisco company soon. Kendra is funny--like a child in need of Ritalin. Her Glinda shows no growth. She manages to play the role as both too young and too old simultaneously. She acts like a hyperactive toddler to compensate for the fact that she is unconvincing as the schoolgirl of act one. Someone once said her act one Galinda was too hardened by life and I agree with that. I don't see a spoiled but ultimately sheltered, insecure, and naive girl, but rather a girl who's been around the block a couple of times. By the time act two rolls around, it's too late to feel anything for her. I think her best work is in "Thank Goodness" when she finally shows some vulnerability, but I'm detached from her, because she did nothing in act one to make me care about her Glinda. Her voice isn't my cup of tea either. Conversely, standby Natalie Daradich has a beautiful voice and her Glinda actually processes humanity. She comes off a schoolgirl (I love her girlish laugh on the bridge in "I'm Not That Girl") and I go on a journey with her Glinda. I'm glad Kendra is on vacation because now that I?ve seen Natalie three of last four times I've seen the show, I have no desire to see Kendra again if I can help it. I only sat through her last time to see Dee Roscioli.

You don't actually believe there'll be a sit-down in New Orleans?

There isn't going to be one! The producers aren't stupid enough to put a multi-million dollar mega musical in a FLOOD ZONE.

Chandra Lee Schwartz will replace Katie Rose Clarke on tour. She says so at the end of this video.

Who in the heck is Chandra Lee Schwartz?
I saw Kendra as Glinda 14 times and 13 of those times was TOO MANY(her last show with Kerry on Broadway was the best I ever saw her). She is a very nice person though. Hated Alli when I first saw her too but grew to love her and will be sad to see her leave next Sunday
