I have no problem with this pic. If it really IS her fully glammed up dress then it is fine. And she looks glamouirous and definitely "a pretty girl", compared to pics of her earlier in the film.
God knows, it would be ghastly if she had anything like the OTT costume she has in the stage show. That works just fine in the theater but would look vile on film.
I love the look of the new movie! I'm a huge 50's and 60's buff, and the look of the movie is very fitting for the time period. To me it feels like it's combining the 1988 movie with the show, and I think that they are heading in the right direction.
And I love that Penny is taller then seaweed, it's very funny.
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu

Hmm I'm not so sure. I can definately see why you would write that, but they had some verry glamorous Dreamgirls dresses (I'm specifically thinking of the orange fringe dresses) that looked fantastic on the screen IMO.
So I think Penny's purple glitzy dress wouldn't look as bad as one might think. Of course if the set is blah and everyone else's costumes are plain jane, it would look a bit...odd.

Yes it is. But I also find that the difference, in stature, makes Seewead look like a little kid.
