MCC’s season will begin in September 2023 with a World Premiere production from this fall’s company-in-residence, The Playwrights Realm. Mary Gets Hers is by Emma Horwitz and directed by Josiah Davis. In November 2023 will be the World Premiere of Walk on Through: Confessions of a Museum Novice, written and performed by Tony Award® winner Gavin Creel (Into the Woods), directed by Linda Goodrich (Loud Nite) and originally commissioned by The Metropolitan Museum of Art. In January 2024, MCC will present the World Premiere of The Connector, a new musical with music and lyrics by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown (Parade), a book by Jonathan Marc Sherman (Clive), and conceived and directed by Daisy Prince (The Last Five Years). The season will conclude in April 2024 with the NY Premiere of The Lonely Few, a new rock musical with music and lyrics by Zoe Sarnak (Secret Soldiers), a book by Rachel Bonds (Sundown, Yellow Moon), and direction by Trip Cullman (MCC’s Moscow Moscow Moscow Moscow Moscow Moscow) and Ellenore Scott (Titanique). MCC will also present the 23rd Edition of Uncensored, an MCC Youth Company Production in April 2024. Dates, casting, creative teams, and individual ticket on sales will be announced at a later date.
Sounds fascinating! Excited for new JRB!
Interesting that of the 4 shows they are doing this season, 3 are musicals and the 1 play is produced by another company (Playwrights Realm).
So excited to see The Lonely Few in their season!! Saw it three times when it was in LA and wish I could have seen it more. Just a shame it's a full year out!

Having seen some workshopped versions of Gavin’s piece, I’m excited to see a fully staged version. It’s very good. And I’ve heard terrific things about the Lonely Few. So sounds like MCC could have a great season on their hands!
MCC has had a pretty awful track record with producing musicals. Often good artists or people coming off a big success doing subpar work. This season will be a big test for them.

The Zoe Sarnak musical is what I'm most excited for. I'm debating a subscription as I don't know how difficult it will be to just buy single tickets. The blurb for The Connector doesn't sound that interesting.

Even as a huge Gavin Creel fan, I was shocked at how good his songwriting was when I saw the show at the Met. Very excited to see how it's evolved since.

Whew. I was able to get a ticket to The Lonely Few. Surprisingly (because I assume a lot of people subscribed for Gavin Creel and The Connector) it seemed like there was a lot of availability. If they discount, I might go during previews but I'm excited to see a new Zoe Sarnak show.
