I know 10 Things I Hate About You was Touchstone, but I never associated it with the Disney brand. Interesting.

The Joe Johnston Disney film I would have just thrown out there instead of Honey, I Shrunk The Kids would have been The Rocketeer. Yeah, it probably would rival Spiderman in mishaps but the Art Deco set designs would have been sight.

Touchstone, Hollywood, Dimension and at one time Miramax are all Disney companies.

Come on. No Pete's Dragon? People may not care for it (glares in the direction of that one poster who shuddered), but it's the most musical-ready. It's perfect. And I even came up with the right gimmick -- you don't show Elliot until the very end. Keep people wondering if it's a real dragon or not, plant some doubt that it's not just the kid's coping mechanism for a sorry life, and then suddenly -- BAM! Dragon revealed, flies over audience at end! You wanna bet that'll be more iconic than Peter Pan dousing the audience in amyl nitrite, sorry excuse me, pixie dust?

ENCHANTED, anyone? ... Yes there was animation in it, but it was not entirely a cartoon. Does it not count?

A musical of MR. HOLLAND'S OPUS would be divine, actually.

There are a couple of Sherman Bros. songs I like from "Summer Magic"(1963).

May be a bit on the corny side though.

Okay okay.... Pete's dragon, Enchanted, Bed knobs and Broomsticks, and Hocus Pocus.

I like the idea of keeping the dragon from coming out until the end!!

and I'll agree to Enchanted ONLY if they do a real waltz at the end, not some fake waltz to "So Close" (not a waltz song) like they do in the movie.

The Moon Spinners
Old Yeller
Toby Tyler
Davy Crockett
Zorro - with Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta Jones reprising their film roles, although, ahem, they are a bit older...
Pollyana already has a musical score...

and to challenge Spider-Man, it will be Julie Taymor's The Absent Minded Professor - flying car, flying basketball players!

I would definitely go see a Hocus Pocus musical version. The movie was so much fun and the potential for great songs is there :)

I would LOVE to see Hocus Pocus on stage if they incorporate the two songs from the movie. I'm not sure that it would work as a commercial venture on Broadway, but they should definitely adapt it like they did with Aladdin and make it available for regional theatres. They'd make tons of money off it.
