New York

I just came back from four days in NYC. I was under the opinion that it is the city that never sleeps, the city to be in. The city that never sleeps? In London one can be in bars till the early hours but not in NY. Can anyone say what is exciting about it? I couldn't see the sky because of the sky scrapers

There are plenty of bars that are open until the early hours.

If you are bored here then you were clearly doing it wrong.

If you think this city is the most boring place you have ever been too then just wait until you go out in the mid-west where some places are truly what I call "west bumblef*ck"

Say what you will about them, but New York's scones and clotted cream are world-renowned for a reason.

The gay bars were the best but others, well, the staff were so thick, they had to keep asking what I had ordered.

I went to a gay bar the other day and was mesmerized by a bartenders thick staff as well.

I'm sorry you didn't have a good time.

I assume you saw "End of the Rainbow." Was it very different than in London?

Yeah, it sucked because it was in New York. Everything is better in London town.

I thought this message board was about broadway shows. Btw...NYC probably doesn't like you either. Why would you go there to see the sky? Lol

1. Bad mouth NYC to New Yorkers. Great start.
2. Judge Americans based on the few bartenders you met. Brilliant.
3. Complain you can't see the sky in a CITY? Did you try going to the park....or even a few blocks away to the river? Great views there.
4. Other than go to a few bars, what did you even try to do that was so exciting? The city and its wonderful sites are they for the taking, they don't come find you.

I went on an open bus tour.
I have to say once out of the sky scrapers, the places were interesting, particularly the Chinese and Jewish ones

So it's the bus tour's fault you can't plan things that you'd be interested in on your travels.

Mummy, stop.

Wow. Way to be rude. Sorry you didn't have a good time, but really, any place is what you make of it. There are many great museums around. I've also found just choosing a location to walk around to be a good time. No pressure to be expecting anything and you can sometimes find things that you were least expecting.

"go on then Paljoey, what is sooooo exciting about NYC?"

For starters, the fact that you've left it.

Hermajesty, I think it's probably best if you just cross it off your list of favorite places and move on.

Insulting a city that many love really isn't going to accomplish much. You won't make anyone agree with you, and I doubt anyone will change your mind.

I'm sure that every tour in London is top notch and has EXACTLY what I had in mind. I can't speak for the tour you took, but not everything is perfect. What tour did you take? What was it BILLED to be?

Maybe you should have figured out WHAT you wanted to do before you went, and not afterwards.
