I too would hate being in New York if I had to walk around with a stick up my ass the entire trip!

If you had just expressed your dislike for the city, that's fine. But, being nasty and putting it down the way you did makes you look like a troll waiting for a reaction.

Funny that if Times Square wasn't so great why did they try to copy it with updating Piccadilly Circus or Shaftesbury Avenue?

I so love America and the accent particularly the Brooklyn one. I had visualised Times Square as a massive square and in the middle, grass, shrubs, trees, and benches to sit on and enjoy the nature of it.

Isn't that kind of like thinking Piccadilly Circus is going to have three rings, some elephants and a fire-breather?

Your fantasy version of Times Square is real, It is called Central Park, or Bryant Park, or any of the other "Green Spaces" in the city. It was you being plain ignorant to your surrounds.

Of course, the West End and London are better than Broadway and New York. The West End production of Legally Blonde ran three times as long as the Broadway production, Shrek is still a big seller in the West End, AND the West End gave us Ghost and Starlight Express.

Oh and Chitty-Chitty- Bang-Bang!!!

There is soooo much more to New York City then Times Square! You could spend a whole day discovering Central Park, Ride the carousel, visit the Zoo. There is Fort Tyrone Park and the Cloisters, there is the park that runs the legnth of the Hudson. Heck if you wanted to you could have Kayacked, taken the circle like and cruised around the island. It is too bad you didn't do your homework before you came. Now you can just sit back at home and complain how boring New York is! LOL!
