The Homecoming Queen is staged in a way that surrounds the audience, and I have heard it described as immersive (I can't say to what extent it is, as I haven't seen it yet -- I have tickets for next week).

Once On This Island especially in the first few rows of the 200 sections. Onstage seats for Farinelli and the King. And of course Sweeney Todd.

Define immersive. Any show that has any amount of action going on around the audience is now considered immersive.
