Don't know if it has been mentioned yet or not (I had a brief search through the forums but couldn't find solid affirmation)...

Lucie Arnaz will be taking over the role of Muriel in "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" when Joanna Gleason leaves. Lucie will plunge into rehearsals in May and is expected to take over the role in the beginning of June.

The photoshopping on that picture is so below par it caused a part of me to die a little inside...

ANYWAY. I guess if it's on her official site it's true...but I'll wait until a press release...she seems young for the role, though...

LOL!!!!!!!!!! Of course it's photoshopped... I just whipped it up myself in about 2 seconds, lol. I wanted to have some image to go with the news article. Sorry it isn't up to standard.

DRS, Lucie Arnaz and Joanna Gleason are only a year apart in age.
Ms Arnaz in 1951 , and Ms Gleason in 1950.

Just wanted to once again dispell any inklings that the photo I made is in any way associated with official releases, other than the one on Lucie's site. Try not to look at it if it's going to cause such an issue. Just a home made job, take it for what it's worth.

Welcome to BWW Lozzaaah, and thanks for the great news. Having seen Joanna 4 times in DRS and being a big fan of Lucie I know that this is great casting. Now I will go broke seeing this show another 4 times.

Hmm. Lucie Arnaz and Rachel York, the woman who played her mother in the TV movie, LUCY, on the same stage. Now there's a photo op!

In the announcement on her site, Lucie says she is taking over June 1st, which would make Joanna's last day May 30th. I am curious, since Greg and Norbert are leaving the week before on the 23rd, if she will leave with them and have her understudy go on for a week until Lucie comes in or if she'll leave the week after on her own?

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.

I would think that a new cast member would start on a Tuesday, so I'm thinking June 6 is the likely start date for Lucie Arnaz. That would make Joanna Gleason's last day June 4.

Even if the switch did come on June 1, that would mean Joanna's last day would be May 31, not July 30.

She should be great, although Joanna's Ferragamos will be hard to fill. I saw Joanna last week and Lucie in February doing a concert version of They're Playing Our Song with Robert Klein and Marvin Hamlisch. Murial is in good hands.

BTW, any word on who is replacing Greg? Sorry if I have just missed it.

dancersmom..Where was the concert staging of THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG? I love that show. Did it in Dinner Theater for like a year and a half back in the 80's!

It is so sad to see the cast splitting up. I am gonna have to see this a few more times. Plus she is the only signature left missing on my Lithgow's last night Playbill. Maybe I will go on a hunger strike outside the theater till she signs... :)

Good luck DRG. Every once in a blue moon she'll shock you by making an appearance at the stage door, so you never know. I was at Lithgow's last show too

Cool! That was such a cool night, I am so glad to have been there!
Yeah, I know Joanna has that whole alternate door thing. I wonder how she chooses when she goes out to sign. Mabye she has some elaborate equation based on the cycles of the moon and and the alignments of the planets. Or then again, mabye not...
