Taking my daughter (and me) to our first Broadway show!  I am confused and would love some help.  I saw that our date (Feb 26th) is within the 2 for 1 special on Telecharge, but I can't seem to get the discount to show up when I am checking out. I assume I am doing something wrong?

Or I saw tickets on TodayTix.  I am wondering why "Mezzanine" is less than "Rear Mezzanine"?

Finally, should I just chance it and get Rush tickets? My daughter would be sad to miss the show, but is this one likely to sell out?  Would love to pay less if possible.

Thanks for any help!!

Go to telechargeoffers.com and enter promo code BWAYWK (or BWAYUP if you’re doing the upgraded seats) to get the 2 for 1 deal.
Sadly can’t help with your two other questions but I’m sure others will chime in.

The matinee is not available for the offer. The evening show is but most of the Broadway week seats have been bought. You have to pick orange seats, not blue ones.

TodayTix sometimes has their own discounts but often they just use the same discount codes available to you. You order without picking seats, then someone at TodayTix buys the tickets for you. The reason mezz is cheaper than rear mezz on TodayTix is because they are taking into account that they can use the 2-for-1 code to get half price tickets for that price point. They do not have access to special inventory so if you use TodayTix you will get seats picked from what is available on Telecharge (so don't buy them from there thinking your seats will be better)

Telecharge is old, outdated, and stupid (but we all have to use it). The Shuberts have no incentive to change it because they own the theatres, so 41% of theatres will ALWAYS have to use it. I'm very into Antitrust, so stuff like this really gets to me!

Anyways, now that my rant is over, because Telecharge is old, outdated, and stupid (and maybe because they're a bit evil too), they make you use a whole separate website called Telechargeoffers.com for any discounts. The link below will take you to the Telecharge Offers page for Dear Evan Hansen's Broadway Week deal.:

I wouldn’t rush if I were you because you aren’t guaranteed admission and you don’t have a choice over seats. Not the best scenario for a first time viewing that means a lot to your daughter.

I rushed the second time I saw the show and I got front row extreme side. Fine for a second viewing but madly uncomfortable as the stage was so high I was craning my neck. I was only there to hear Ben and Rachel so it worked. I would have been upset if I never saw the show before.

Thank you everyone that chimed in!  I might switch to a  weeknight because I can see there are some 2 for 1 tickets available.  There is a pair of center mezzanine row F.  Is that a decent location for a seat?  The floor tickets are off to the side (and more expensive) so I figured center was better even if it was up high?  Please correct me if I am wrong on that.

Similar story to BettyBoy2 except I didn’t rush. I bought my ticket to see Ben and Rachel. For that show, I sat rear mezz and loved every second! When I sat a few months later in front row orch (cheapest seat in the house and my friend picked them) my neck was hurting for days after. It was great being so close but I missed a few things. Good seat for not a first viewing.

In my opinion you are totally correct in going with center mezz.  For a first viewing this will give a great view of the entire show - staging, lighting, etc. which to me is a huge part of this particular show.  Orchestra side seats will not provide that same experience.  And the Music Box is such a small theater that it's not like you're miles away from the stage in the mezzanine, especially in row F.

Total DEH fanatic and love to chat with similarly obsessed fans. Please feel free to PM me. In times like these, we could all use a friend.
