I heard that Zach wasn't "truly" singing in High School Musical. That his voice was mixed (or even not used at all?) because he was a baritone and the role was for that of a tenor. Is that true? And if so, is that really him singing in Hairspray?
If it was him in Hairspray, he's not bad, IMO. But I don't really have respect for people who don't do the singing for their roles.

He was dubbed over in HSM- the role was written for a tenor, Zac was cast- he is baritone. So they dubbed almost all of him with Drew Seeleys voice.
He sings in Hairspray, he sings in HSM2 - no one will dub him from here on out.

Spider, you weren't kidding when you said the people on these boards are a bunch of complainers. Reading some of these posts makes me laugh.
Zac basically explodes after HSM, gets cast in Hairspray and gets good notices, so now there is talk he will star in a remake of Footloose. Maybe it's just me, but that seems like good business sense and a no-brainer to me. I mean, honestly, if you're talking about doing a remake of Footloose, is there ANYONE else out there in that age range who can sing and dance, with the same rabid fan following, that you would cast in the role?
Assuming the film gets made quickly to cash in on Zac's popularity and doesn't completely suck, it is bound to be a huge hit with the tween set who aren't old enough to remember the original.
Personally, I think Zac holds his own in the singing and dancing department, and based on the little bits of HSM2 that I've heard, he sounds even better there than he did in Hairspray.
