I think it will be little mermaid, but it should be jungle book. Of course mabey a more of a clasic, like bambi, or snow white will be next, I hope it wont be toy story, I had a dream of that and I pray it never comes true

I'm totally all for Hunchback. It's my fav Disney movie of all time and I love the German recording especially.
I would love to see Nightmare Before Christmas on stage. Has Danny Elfman had anything on broadway before? he's a wonderful composer. I think it would be great to have a work of his on bway, esp NBC...it totally rocks and it would be interesting to see how they can make it work.
Also I think Hercules and Mulan would be great too!
"NO! NOT HUNCHBACK! THEY RAPED THAT STORY COMPLETELY!"
Actually, the Disney stage version of Hunchback is closer to the book than the film was. But honestly, it's Disney. What did you expect?
PS - I heard the demo including the new songs for Little Mermaid and it's quite disappointing. They have a lot of work to do.
Am I the only one who's heard about Pat Carroll being in it?
Hunchback and Pochantas were both messed up. I did see a clip of Eden playing the lead role (thank you You Tube) and it looked okay.
Captain John Smith was about fifty. Pochantas, on the other hand, was about twelve.
Or something like that. I'm not too sure that'd fly on Broadway.
I heard rumors a while back that Pinochio was kicking around. Not sure about how reliable the info is but supposedly they approached Taymor who turned it down.
Fiction - That clip of Pocahontas, was it from the DisneyWorld show? The only stage production I've heard about with the Disney Pocahontas was from a school in Germany. Incidentally, it did contain some new music and there was a live recording comercially available. Alas, I don't believe Eden was in the show.
My mistake.. it's not exactly Pocahontas, but it's Eden singing "Music of the Wind.." or whatever it's called.
(Disclaimer: I'm not sure if this was posted legally.)

According to the New York Times, Disney Theatricals' next project is a musical version of Jules Feiffer's children's book, "The Man in the Ceiling." Feiffer will write the libretto while Andrew Lippa will write the score. No timetable has been announced for a staged production.
jungle book i think would be great. But i doubt it would come out now with it being so similar to tarzan. ya know, the whole animal-jungle deal.
