Never underestimate the flaming idiot that is ultimately in charge of it, either.
I don't put it past ALW to pull POTO in favor of the ridiculous sequel. I'm seriously hoping that Phantom of Manhattan crashes in a big ball of flames before it sees a theatre, thus leaving POTO to run and run until the extinction of mankind.

Please let it be LION KING.
PHANTOM is one of my top favorites (Les Miz the other). Have seen it 17 times and would go another 17+

Posted: 2/18/08 at 4:33pmWhy do people suggest things that are so ridiculous? You may not like Lion King, but it is still in the top 3 in terms of weekly grosses, and is not an easy ticket. It's not going ANYWHERE.

Posted: 2/18/08 at 4:37pmTrue, there is no reason to HATE shows and want them to close and all that. But, I thought we were talking about which shows that we objectively thought are the most likely to close next.

Posted: 2/20/08 at 1:04pmSorry to burst your Broadway bubble george5.. but Hairspray IS still doing relatively well at the box office. It's consistently among the top 10 grossing shows each week. Not bad for a musical more than five years into its run. You can't stop the beat.. just yet.
