Saw Hair numerous times and am looking forward to going back next week. Saw Next to Normal once, have no plans of ever revisiting the show.

Go with N2N. I love both Hair and N2N, but Alice's performance in N2N is going to be legendary and shouldn't be missed. Hair will be around for a while so you could always catch it on your next visit.

But you can't go wrong with either... I just can't stress enough how much you NEED to see Alice.

I have seen and loved BOTH of these shows....I think they are the best two shows of last season. You really can't go wrong.

The biggest reason for you to see N2N first is definitley longevity. While I suspect N2N MIGHT make it to January (but not beyond) Hair most definitely will. I also highly suspect the cast will be mostly intact for Hair in late fall -- I'm sure most of them have a year on their contracts.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

go to Next to Normal if you will be back later in the year, because Hair is going to last, it's classic and a cash cow

But Next to Normal(unfortunetly) might not be around that long.**tear**

If you want to have a good and fun time go with Hair. If you want to be kinda bored, depressed, sad and feel like you are watching an after school special go with Next to Normal.

Don't believe everything that you hear! Only the peeps involved know the truth!

I think all of the good arguments have been made. I agree with general consensus... see either, they're both great. See N2N because it's less likely to last til your next trip.

Tough choice but my pick would be Hair, this direction is so spot on.
For the first time i saw a complete musical production and not the fragmentary play with songs it was before.

Go with Hair. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll be thoroughly entertained. You won't regret it.

Since you're coming back in early winter, see N2N this time around. See HAIR the second visit. There will already be some replacements when you see HAIR, that much I can assure you, but how many, I'm not sure. No matter what, it's still the best production on Broadway. But see N2N this time. For sure.

See HAIR, a thrilling revival of an essential piece of American theatre.
