It is similar to Riverdance but also a big spectacle. It recently played at the London Palladium.

So what happened to A Christmas Carol? Thought it had all these big stars attached?

There is an object lesson here about paying much attention to idle gossip. Broadway is littered with "plans" that never come to fruition, aspirations that don't materialize and half-baked ideas. The bottom line here is that "talk" is not the same as a deal in place, and oftentimes it is nothing more. It is not unusual for a dreamer to get excited about something, but then the number crunchers take the wind out of the sails.

No. I am saying that we have had at least 3 certainties announced here regarding the post-OTT, pre-Cirque window at the Lyric, but none of them have been shown to be more that gossip. It? easy to have ideas and to talk about them but things like thing are hard to make work financially and logistically. And as Brother Pinto has perhaps learned, overloading rumors is a fool's errand.

ivandixon are you the accountant at the Lyric? You know some very specific details about that theatre. ![]()
Back to Lord of the Dance...that brand always seems to play well in the States. As far as I know it played to capacity at Radio City. The version playing at the Dominion in the West End, assuredly the one that will be coming here, has been pretty successful already around the UK. It's a short run and should be a fun alternative, assuming they can get word out. I mean there's still no announcement, though I hear it's any minute.

Posted: 9/2/15 at 1:01pmivan, thanks for the information and details. Do you know if there is any other short term space that Christmas Carol is looking at, or does it look like it is dead for this holiday season since the Lyric is apparently no longer available?

ivan, we very much appreciate your information, but I'm worried that the specific information you're giving will allow people to pinpoint you. But if you don't care, then by all means.
