I'm going to be in the city on Saturday, and am looking to rush both of these shows. I was planning on Rushing N2N for the matinee and seeing American Idiot for the evening show. What are the chances I'm going to get tickets for either of these shows? Would my chances be increased if I tried for the American Idiot matinee instead?
Thanks for any advice...everything is useful.

Don't they both have lottery? At the same time?

Don't know about N2N's lottery...but for AI, you have to be there at least an hour B4 they start taking names, for the evening show, be there by 6:00. Both times I went to AI {I had TIX}, I watched the procedure. I was waiting for a friend outside the theater at 7pm, they started to pull names. Good Luck!
Neither show has a rush, only lotto.
For N2N, for the 8 PM show, you arrive between 6-6:30 to put your name in, and names are drawn at 6:30.

According to playbill, it's the same for American Idiot. They take names from 6-6:30 for an 8pm show, draw at 6:30.
"a limited number of tickets in the first two rows of the orchestra will be sold via lottery. Entries will be accepted at the St. James Theatre box office beginning two hours prior to each performance; Thirty minutes later, names will be drawn at random for approximately 21-25 seats in the first two rows of the theatre."
There is no need to wait around before they start taking names for either as ostensibly they mix up the entries so that everyone has an equal chance to win.

as angelplays said they are both a lotto and pull at the same time. it is a saturday so i would say it is a toss up. just pick one to try for the matinee and hopefully you win. and then try the other at night. also n2n sometimes selss Lotto Loser tickets that are partial view for $40 and you dont so much miss too much usually. so that is an option (hopefully)

Just to clarify, I plan on seeing a matinee of one show and the evening performance of the other. From what I've heard, I have a pretty good chance of getting N2N tickets. I'm just curious how the American Idiot lottery is looking these days. Is it still really busy?
I wish you luck. N2N isn't always an easy lotto, depending on the number of nutbag fankids that show up.
I wouldn't count on N2N being easy it is very unpredictable I had tickets to a Saturday matinée I was in NY early so I went to the theater there was a huge crowd, but sometimes theres so little everyone gets tickets

Hm. That's interesting. The people I've talked to have rushed N2N multiple times and have always gotten tickets. Good to know.
Any info on American Idiot?

The last time I was at AMERICAN IDIOT,3 wks ago,on a Friday Eve, the LOTTO was very busy. They had a sizable crowd.

they are close together so see how many people are at each before you put your name in, so long as you do it before they stop letting you put names in. i would wager that AI will be more crowded than n2n because its is the last weekend before the Tonys and well it is a weekend and now that schools are also letting out.

superboy2 - next to normal does NOT have a rush. They have a lottery. I assume the people you talked to who "got rush every time" were seeing it when it was rush and all you had to do was wait in line. It is now a lottery so there are no guarantees. Especially on a weekend.

question! at the end of october i am going to do lotto for AI and its my first time doing lotto ever! i am going with my mom, should we both enter our names to increase or chances? or should we just put in one name? if we both enter our names and with two tickets each, could we sell (same price) to someone who didnt win? whats the procedure with that?
thankss!
Both of you should enter. They let you get one or two tickets per winner--so make sure you and your mom both circle the "2" option. If one of you wins, both of you can see the show from that one ticket. If both of you win, whoever's name is drawn second just says that (s)he doesn't want the tickets, and someone else will get that spot. Easy as pie!
Often you can buddy up with another pair at lotto. If both your names win: you'll give your second set to them, and if both THEIR names get called they'll give you their extras.
