New Broadway Themed TV Pilot

It takes guts to try something that flopped so badly the first time. But Matt Doyle? I'm there.

Hmm. After Smash (and, to an extent, Bunheads) I wouldn't have thought anyone would touch Broadway again for a while.
I assume this is for a small cable network/internet broadcast of some kind? It's a funny time of year to shoot a pilot.
Yes! A Broadway-themed show again
Praying that NBC doesn't get a hold of this...
Does that purposefully say the "Oxwood Theatre?"
Oh God NBC Please don't touch this show! They canceled Smash and everything Good, they are a worthless network
I really can't see any other network than CBS or NBC getting this... maybe USA. Other than that, I'd hate to see what would happen if it went to something like ABC Family (not that ABC Family is bad- it's just not my cup of tea.)

this is being done independent of any network.
Well then, that changes a lot. I wish it luck...
This has all the tell-tale signs of a web series.
Oddly hopeful for this.

Well, clearly, it's being produced independently. But a network will have to eventually pick it up and when that happens the network will play a role in the show's development, tone, storyline, etc. No matter what.
When I was at Disney Television, independent producers would approach us all the time with their own self-produced pilots. Only about two or three out of the hundreds got picked up and still, once it was picked up, Disney played a massive role in shaping the future of the series. It's no different elsewhere.
Is this the Menken TV project?
The article only mentions those actors "popping" in, not having lead roles.
I wouldn't hold your breath. (not saying it can't be good, but I'm sure SMASH will serve as a cautionary tale.)
Hmm something is fishy about this "pilot." Who is Jeremy Merrifield anyway? It's not even pilot season. Hmm they could afford a crane.

hahahah just because its produced doesnt mean anyone eventually has to be involved with it.
Jeremy Merrifield is AKA Jeremy Michael, if that helps any!

IF a network picks it up, they will be involved. That's common sense. Not difficult to understand. Either you misunderstood my post or I didn't state it eloquently enough... Not up to your standards, at least.

This is not have television works at all.

Sorry but the network will have its hand in the creative wheelings and dealings. Whether it's Disney, CBS, NBCUniversal, or IFC. You can argue differently until the cows come home but my 18 years of experience in television say otherwise. I'll leave it at that. Feel free to stomp your feet and scream louder.
Nick told me that this was going to kinda a big part for him (Recurring was the word he used I believe). Don't know if things have changed since I talked to him though.
Well, since it hasn't been picked up, right now, there will be no reoccurances. (And at this point, everyon'e fall is full, and I would suggest that whatever might be mid-season line up is also decided. So what's the earliest we could see this? A summer replacement or next fall.)
I really really hope this works out.
it will only work if its on a AMC, FX, HBO or SHOWTIME.
only they allow a show to find itself and get its legs
