Coming to Broadway this fall? Interesting that the rumored theaters are the Lyceum (which will definitely be vacant by the fall) or the Broadhurst (which shouldn't necessarily...).

Would love to see this play Broadway.
Kidman was excellent.
The sharks are swimming around Tuck.
Next year's Tony race for Lead Actress in a Play is already getting interesting (Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Diane Lane, Mary-Louise Parker, etc.).

I would love to see this come. Not just because of Kidman but a story of an important woman that is too rarely told.
Riedel is so clueless about Kidman. If you take a look at her filmography, she has worked with pretty much every significant auteur of the past 20 years or more, I mean, she was handpicked by Stanley Kubrick for goodness' sake and developed an incredible bond with him. She's not a "well-regarded actress," she's one of the best actresses of her generation. There's actual academic books written by prominent scholars dedicated to her body of work. The idea that people expect her to be some sort of sexspot just shows how out of tune with reality Riedel is </end of rant>.
Anyway, I'll buy tickets the second this is announced. I was worried she would end up not doing this just like she ended up not doing SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH. I was too young when THE BLUE ROOM played, but I'll definitely make sure not to miss her this time around. I bet she'll be magnificent.

Yeah this quote was annoying because it sounded like he expected her to be bad.
"It's not what you expect from her at all," an unnamed Broadway producer told Reidel. "It's a knockout performance."

To be fair, the last time she was on Broadway, she gave a rather terrible performance -- and the producers of that play shamelessly marketed her presence with little regard to the play itself. It was "Come see Mrs. Tom Cruise on Broadway -- she even gets naked for a second!" She's developed exponentially as an actress since then.
I saw her twice in London. The first time I was in the standing room of the second circle and she was good; the second one I was sitting in the second row of the stalls and she was terrific. It's a good production of a meh play, but she's really a movie actress rather than a theatre one... still, the second time was really, really good
