Anyone know why this happened? Seems kinda odd, the lack of explanation or reasons for why Patina can no longer do the announcement.

She's filming Mercy Street in Virginia. Announcing the Tony nominations isn't exactly the kind of thing you delay shooting over. It's more like the "who's in town and doesn't mind waking up at 6:30am?" kind of thing.

Why did she agree to do the nominations in the first place if she was shooting a series?

She probably thought she could do it. Filming schedules change all the time.

She just signed up to do MERCY STREET. It was announced a few days ago.

Tbh I don't blame Patina for her decision. Like others have said, announcing Tony noms isn't as important as shooting a series. And we get a BOM reunion, so that'll be great!
