Just spittin' fax!
And may I say, the anger that have come from posters this week has been over the top crazy. If I bring you to such mind blowing rage, feel free to block me. I state opinions. How I state them is my perogative. Have an issue with that? I couldn't care less.
Have a good evening, maybe take a valium and/or some whiskey?
Jesus Christ.

That, too, is a lie.

Yes, if you're not going to be paranoid about getting restaurant food or groceries or packages delivered, I don't think that fan mail should be a cause for concern. I just assume a lot of people who would want to reach out to actors are younger and they'd be unlikely to send fan mail. It takes more effort than a tweet or a comment on Instagram or Tik Tok. People who do reach out probably do so with more thought.

I think what could possibly happen is that casts will sign stacks of Playbills to have handed out at the stage door. I say possibly if it becomes a problem with people not wanting to leave the stage door area. I am sure there will be security. (Back when I saw BENT with Richard Gere, he signed the Playbills backstage and we were given a Playbill at the stage door after the play was over)
As far as mail goes, maybe certain shows don't allow it but so many do. I have seen many Broadway actors, a lot Broadway legends, talk about and show the things and letters that have been sent to them by fans.
And yes, as Jordan said, stage dooring will be back in time.

I don’t know if it will continue when the show returns or if any other shows would do it but Mrs Doubtfire was doing this before the shutdown. They started previews March 9th and Equity banned stage door interaction after the first night; when I saw the show on the 11th the guard was handing out playbills signed by all the principals.

Most of the young Broadway stans use social media to get actors' attention, not so much physical mail. So that will likely get crazier.

Here's a bunch of famous people who appreciated fan letters. They include Presidents Obama and Clinton. Vonnegut, Steve Martin, Audrey Hepburn, Keith Richards, Benjamin Franklin and Iggy Pop.

I haven't seen any "mind blowing rage". Can you offer an example in this thread? You sound paranoid.

I'm surprised that the moderators don't have an issue with you suggesting that other posters are "over the top crazy" and need to be medicated - much less that you recommend mixing booze and dope. Broadway doesn't go in for that, y'know. Besides, you've posted 8 out of 30 posts here. That's a pretty high percentage, and most have little to do with the topic and everything to do with you . One post is a completely pointless gif, and 2 posts are back to back. Maybe switch to decaf?
"Just spittin' fax!"
Doesn't "fax" = "facts", not "opinion"?
Besides, " spittin' fax" is SO 2019. It never really happened. Perhaps you ought retire it.

And after the Ripley issues I can see that being a dead end with performers turning offf dms and comments.

Many years ago, I took a tour of Yankee Stadium and part of the tour was the Yankee clubhouse. We were allowed to look in but not walk into the clubhouse. It was noticed that Derek Jeter had two lockers instead of one and we were told the 2nd one was for fan mail. The tour guide said that yes he does read it and tries to get to all of it but it may take a couple of months. I think Jeter and the people you mentioned above are more known/popular than Broadway performers and their fan mail is not going in the trash.

Yes some famous people spend a good deal of time on fan mail, and others have one or more assistants who deal with (and answer) fan mail as well as social media presence (in some cases forwarding a curated selection to the person) while still others throw it away. Proving once again that there are no rules.
Regarding Jeter's second locker, I've always heard that it was for shoes. Paul O'Neill and David Cone have mentioned this on more than one occasion during Yankees broadcasts. Both stories could be true, of course.
