Hold your hats and hallelujah. THE LIGHTS WILL SHINE AGAIN!!!
And sorry if this is corny, but I've been waiting to do it all week. A small quote from my namesake. "Fellow BWW-ers. We've been through a frightening time. And there will be other times and other things that frighten us."
Well, it's over. We're out it all. I have to say I didn't think it'd be over this soon. So yeah, for the record, I never once felt as optimistic as I said I was.

The strike ended because they finally agreed to let Stagefan and I mop the stage for no pay and give us each a nice comfy spot to live in the orchestra pit

Posted: 11/28/07 at 11:40pmNot to be a party pooper or anything; if you read the press release, Claffey still has to get the union memberships' vote to end the strike, ratified in 10 days. Tentative, yes, hopefully this will be the ACTUAL end.

I'm thrilled and happy for everyone involved, except, selfishly, me. Now I have to go back to tending bar. So come see me being miserable at the Ambassador Thursday night. I'll be making my debut as bar manager, as Ms. Turturro, Mr. Pastore, and Mr. Caulfield make their debuts as well.
I'd just gotten used to working a full-time schedule at my other job, and this is going to screw up my whole weekend. It's all worth it though to see the lights back on Broadway, and to get back to collecting for Broadway Cares. I'll hopefully also be back at Phantom helping raise money.
Whomever is seeing a show this week, give lots. We need to make up a lot of lost days for BC/EFA. Thanks in advance for being so generous, as I know you all will be.

nah, the strike is over. picket lines are down. contract ratification is more of a formality at this point. Go buy some tickets!

Posted: 11/29/07 at 12:45amI don't even live anywhere close to NYC and I practically started crying when I found out that the strike was over. I guess this just proves how much Broadway has an effect on me.
