Good for Norbert! Lets hope he gets some good writers, so it's a hit!

I'm so thrilled for Norbert! This is exciting. I just hope it does better than Cheno's show.
or Faith Prince's. Or Bette Midler's.
Yay! This is very exciting. Hopefully it gets a good writing team and time slot.

I wish him luck but I wish he wouldn't go. Sitcom's are so banal and he is way above contrived sitcom humor. But best of luck, maybe he can help breath new life into a dying genre. I know I'll watch.

I hope he doesn't abandon his Bwy career, tho.
i just read it on playbill! that's so exciting for him (but i hope he doesn't leave bway for long...we would miss him too much)!
To continue, pop - or Nathan Lane's...
what a shame. here comes the tidey-bowl man now.
Take the money and run, Norby!
Art or not, success or not... The man's got kids to feed and send to college.
Then come back to Broadway with a bigger name-recognition, and choose your own vehicle.
Who else, except Mandy has been successful on TV?
I found him brilliant in Dead Like Me (but after two seasons I guess many didn't)...but he has that show now on regular TV, although I have not watched it.

Well Patti was on Life Goes On, but I was like four when it was on and I don't remember how long it went for.
Who's Mandy?
Carol Burnett did pretty well for herself
Michael C. Hall
Charles Kimbrough
Victor Garber
Glenn Close
...just off the top of my head.
And just about everyone on West Wing...especially Ms. Janney and Mary-Louise Parker. And speaking of Parkers...Sarah Jessica and Cynthia Nixon.

Mandy Patinkin. Updated On: 11/9/05 at 11:27 AM
who's Mandy? Yikes......how soon they forget. Or else how old I am.....
And what sitcom was Glenn Close in? While a major film star, I remember no TV show that she was in.

I believe Glenn is one that show "The Shield."
No you're not old Elphaba, I am 21 and I know who Mandy is.
Nell Carter, Betty Buckley...
Heh...I don't really associate Mandy w/ tv, hence he didn't register as "successful" to me (never watched any of his shows). That's not to say that he isn't though...
I was just talking about tv in gen'l...not necessarily sitcoms.

Ahh Bebe is such an obvious one...*hits head on desk*
Patti LuPone was on a hit television show.
The theater people you mention who have been successful have not had sitcoms written around them. The unsuccessful ones have. That is what we're discussing here - this show is being written around him, as in the tragic cases of Chenoweth, Lane, Prince, Midler, and Alexander.
