Posted: 12/2/04 at 11:20pmI saw this show during its London run, and while I didn't care for it, because it was more of a concert than a story-musical, I did enjoy the music. The concept recording they put out isn't that great. I am wondering why they did not doing a complete recording in English. None of the faster songs are on the one disc concept, such as The King of Fools, which I really enjoyed!

Posted: 12/2/04 at 11:30pmit's not my most favorite, but i do like the recording. of course i like just about anything sung in french! have you heard AUTANT EN EMPORTE LE VENT? i saw it in paris a year ago.

Posted: 12/3/04 at 10:02amI believe they were considering a full English recording of Notre-Dame de Paris near the end of the London run but it never happened. Get the two disc French recording. It’s fabulous!

Posted: 12/3/04 at 10:31amI have the French recording. The lyrics, in English, are definitely not good. At intermission, one of the friends I was with, leaned over, and said, "My God, it's as if Celine Dion threw up all over the stage." To funny. It was true. But, I did like some of the music.

Notre Dame de Paris... the worst musical I've ever seen!
Didn't care much about 99% of the score too either. Totally forgettable score.
