Posted: 6/30/07 at 12:54amIt was so thrilling to see the cameras in there tonight, knowing that tomorrow the show's going to become a piece of history. They really deserve this; I'm so excited for them.

Posted: 6/30/07 at 2:47amINCREDIBLY happy that I'll get to see it on PBS, but can I ask? What "qualifies" a filmed play to BE on PBS? Will Grey Gardens be on PBS, also? I don't know what the qualifications are. Anyone know?

Sleeth1 -- the only reason that the Broadway revival of COMPANY is getting filmed is simply because a private company: Ellen M. Krass Productions, is filming it. PBS has no involvement with the filming.
Ellen M. Krass negotiated with PBS to air it as part of their Great Performances series, which is how COMPANY will be airing on PBS. If PBS declined, it wouldn't be airing on PBS, so it could have ended-up on HBO, A&E, Bravo, etc. IF they were interested, etc.
PBS does not 'film' these shows -- producers of the shows, private companies, etc. PRODUCE these filmings of Broadway shows. PBS simply decides IF they want to air it as part of their Great Performances series. Lincoln Center has their own series LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER, which is how their own Broadway productions sometimes appear on that series.

Wanna Be A Foster -- quite a telling Screen Name.
It's gonna take alot more than commenting on EVERY one of my comments, dumb-ass, to be worthy enough to 'Be A Foster'.
Seriously.

I almost posted a separate thread, you know, to get in on the humor, but I'll just bump this one.
Some pictures of the filming equipment, etc...

I think what you meant to type was "It's gonna take alot more than commenting on EVERY one of my dumb-ass comments to be worthy enough to 'Be A Foster'."
