I love how BrodyFosse was the one denouncing all the other announcements over the past week, just so he could be the first one to "break the news." When a cast member tells someone personally "They're taping on Saturday for PBS," one would think that would be good enough. But not for Brody. It's not official until HE posts it.

As with all PBS Great Performances -- COMPANY will be released on DVD, so no need to be frantic about taping this.
And I never doubted the filming -- I was just giving this board a slight reality check as these 'filmings' have been cancelled before. MOVIN' OUT is the most recent example, as was BRING IN DA' NOISE, BRING IN DA' FUNK.
Until an official annoucement is issued -- it's all wishful thinking and heresay EVEN if an actor says otherwise.

Actually, I was referring to the other thread where people had posted links to the BWW, Broadway.com and Playbill article confirmations long before you created this one.
Besides, ever since it was first rumored, you've complained that no one knows anything. Quite the contrary, others did know; you just wouldn't accept it- even though, believe it or not, the cast is told before the press release. In fact, you had even asked if someone spoke to a cast member about it yet. You claim cast members' confirmations aren't good enough now, but that's what you wanted for Sunday afternoon. Just wondering what changed, since that requirement was cast off as inconsequential as soon as someone else said they already had.

Posted: 6/29/07 at 11:43amI am so excited about this. Like others have stated, I just hope that PBS doesn't go overboard, and change the camera shot every five seconds with awkward angles. I would much rather prefer three or so cameras at the back of the orchestra/mezzanine. I don't know where they'd put nine cameras, unless they fly them which would be slightly distracting for all parties.

Thank you, orangeskittles for all your devoted support.
Great to read that my posts are memorable, which wasn't my intention at the time of posting.
Good to read that someone IS paying attention to my written words, and I fully embrace any and all comments, regardless.

I sincerely hope that we don't get soo many closeups and weird angles.
I think with Company (and with John Doyle), there are things going on the side that we miss, so I hope there are some wide views, &c.
Especially, since they are playing their own instruments, I hope it's not a closeup on Bobby the entire time.

Posted: 6/29/07 at 12:35pmThis is great. I really wanted to see this, but never got around to. Even though it'll be released on DVD, I'm still going to tape it. It's just too bad they couldn't do this for Sweeney last year.

Posted: 6/29/07 at 8:38pmSo I am a P.A. on the shoot and I just got home. I am very excited for tommorow and getting to see the whole process take shape from behind the scenes. Today all the video equiptment came and was set up. I believe there are somethign like 10 different cameras, including very interesting angles such as one that is almost a bird's eye view. There is also a camera on a mini crane from the mezz so that should provide some nice sweeping shots. They removed uite a few seats today to make room for the seats also. I was in the video truck some of the time and the film looks gorgeous and I believe it is being shot in HD. Anyway, I will be sure to report back with lots of fun stories from tommorow, I am SO excited!

Holy f*ck -- I never considered this for HD! Hopefully it gets a Blu-Ray release, not just the standard definition version.
Heck...while I'm at it -- release FOSSE and all those other Great Performances on Blu-Ray!

Posted: 6/30/07 at 12:46amHi everyone, I'm also working on the shoot as an intern with PBS. While I wasn't at the theater today, I was sitting in a conferance room while Lonny Price and the production team were figuring out/running through each all the camera shots and angles. It's going to be great. There's 9 cameras; one of them is a stationary one while the other 8 all have extremely specific shots...and I realize that all this has been covered already by Midnight Radio...sorry, I'm dead tired. Anyways, we're going through a rehearsal starting at 8 am tomorrow, with the actors, so the camera guys can figure out exactly what they need to do... Something rather amusing is that aside from Bobby and Joanne, all the other characters are being referred to in the shot notes by their appearance. It's so that the camera guys can figure out who they're supposed to be shooting, obviously, but it was funny to hear them calling characters "Red", "Legs", "Velvet", "Stripes" etc. And I'm under the impression that this is going to air a lot sooner than people think. I don't want to say anything specific, though, in case I'm wrong, but people were stressing out about how soon their deadline is going to be. I'm too tired to remember anything else, but I'll also try to relate any interesting stories that happen during the shoot tomorrow. And I apologize if this was incoherent/annoying to read.

Posted: 6/30/07 at 12:54amIt was so thrilling to see the cameras in there tonight, knowing that tomorrow the show's going to become a piece of history. They really deserve this; I'm so excited for them.
