Hey all, just wanted to share an experience. I didnt see any of the $61 broadway week tickets left for once on this island, but figured since there really isnt much fine print for the price guarantee, nor info about there are about 10 seats at that price per performance for the bway week sale on telecharge, I had a case to bring to the show and try to get a good price.
So I did, and after some back and forth with the representative via email (they left no email, make me think it was ken davenport haha!) anyway, they basically said that because I emailed them after telecharge sold out of the $61 for all of the performances, they cant do anything.
SO A FEW THINGS:
I first emailed OOTI SATURDAY MORNING
yes maybe they sold out between fri and sat, but its not like i am asking for these tickets just today
there is absolutely zero way of finding out how many tickets at $61 they have, as telecharge didnt even list it on their schedule/pricing tab.
SO BASICALLY, they cant honor the $61 price because I emailed them AFTER they sold, yet nowhere does it say there is limited inventory of them. and believe me, I checked...there are MANY seats still left for all the dates I can go.
Very very disappointed in yet another Ken Davenport scheme!
I think the vast majority of the Broadway week prices really aren't good deals.

The OOTI deal was pretty solid -- it wasn't cheaper (at least not by more than a few dollars) than the bottom end of the non-discounted price, but the seats are better. I had been looking to go on a Tuesday and had avoided pulling the trigger because the $89 tickets were back row and in a weird spot. For Broadway Week, the $80-ish tix were more plentiful and in better places.
Regarding if they sold out or not -- I saw the rollout Friday, checked Telecharge and walked over to the theater (15 min walk from home) and the seats I wanted were gone! I think some went pretty quickly!

I totally agree, however the $61 is the cheapest the show was going for like ever, and full price cheap seats are about $90, which is crazy (especially for an hour and a half). My point is more though that the best price guarantee is BS

Well, Broadway week tickets are are 'buy one get one free' so it's like TKTS but at least you have tickets in advance. That's the way I see it.
i think the cheapest way to see this show is via its in-person lottery. Standing room isn't that bad either.
I sprung for three $89 seats ($100 with fees) last weekend for an April date and noticed the “price guarantee.” Now I see a few TDF shows offered. Now granted, who knows if my date would be offered up in April, but if it is, I won’t be too happy. Still, I would imagine this guarantee would not be applicable to TDF.

Not sure what the expectation is here. They sold tickets at a limited price, and ran out, and you seem to think that when they sell out, they just keep adding more highly discounted seats?!

I actually would love to open up a discussion about this - why wouldn't it be applicable? The Best Price Guarantee is supposed to work with any ticket available to the show at a lower price. Not that I want everyone in the city to be able to get the $47 without paying the yearly fee like I do - but is the box office theoretically claiming you would be able to get $47 tickets if they're available to TDF, and then no longer once they're sold out online? So random, so many loopholes, so many ways this can't work. Such a stupid idea, and being implemented in such an idiotic way.

This can't be correct, otherwise why wouldn't everyone be able to buy tickets at the lottery price? The site says the ticket must be sold by an "official promotional partner site," though those sites are not named.

Does anyone really think a best price offer available to everyone would extend to discounted tickets offered by a closed organization where membership is only available to those of a certain profession and these cheaper tickets are a membership benefit for which an annual fee is required?
What's next? If someone on here is desperate to dump a couple of tickets last minute and they'll take $40 for each of them, does OOTI now have to sell their tickets at $40 to honor the best price guarantee? I think the expectations of what this guarantee applies to are becoming a bit unrealistic.
Just to clarify (if it matters), I do but the annual TDF membership - and as I’m planning my family’s annual broadway blitz trip, I buy what I can ahead of time, then save other (lower priced) show options for rush or TDF tickets. If I start seeing a show being offered on TDF, and it’s not on our must-see list, I would usually hold off and take my chances.
