It would require a major costly renovation to make it a viable Broadway theatre. Was just thinking it's odd to have not heard any news about the next Encores season or the fall gala. Did a quick search and they released the dates for the season in early May but it's been crickets ever since. Generally tickets for the Fall Gala run would already be on sale by now. Has anyone heard anything? Just a delay because of the change in artistic director?

Saw this tonight as part of my New Group subscription. Whew .... I didn't mind most of the humor but agree the music and much of the casting is kind of lackluster. Most offensive/concerning/distracting is the late-show decision to costume one of the characters in an "Investigate 9/11" t-shirt where the 11 is represented by pink-bejeweled Twin Towers. Saw this Wed. night and haven't left a theater feeling that impressed, pleased and/or effusive about a new musical in a really long time. Sat dead center in the mezzanine and the energy in the audience was palpable; from the chatter, it seemed like quite a few people's first Broadway show. I'm interested to see if Ilana Glazer gets any call-outs in the Good Night and Good Luck reviews. I liked her performance, and there's a ton of competition, but never know how many people will get in with such a large field.

Tonight's 7 p.m. show and the talk back was cancelled before going on due to an illness. Lots of very annoyed patrons outside afterwards

Forgive me if I missed a post/announcement about refurbishment plans, but it seems a little sad that it looks like the Signature Theatre building is going to be dark for most of the summer. Maybe I'm misremembering or maybe it's just a another sign of the economy at the moment, but I feel like they used to host a number of shows -- from other companies, usually -- during the summer. Am I wrong or is this just going to be the new normal for a while?

Travelled to Boston for last night's show. Was going great -- pretty much the City Center production and a good cast giving their best for a third or fourth performance of the run -- but we made it about 30 mins in (got to halfway through "The Art of the Possible&quot and they stopped the show and then cancelled the performance due to an issue with the cast. Hopefully all are well, but just wanted to call out the casting for all.

For all of the people asking for televised pre-recorded performances packaged with a general announcement of the winners ... who is going to write the script for this? You can't just string clips together with no introduction or transition (well, I mean you could, but ... ), but even planning what goes where in such a "show" is considered part of the writing process that the union is currently protesting. It's just not a likely scenario when the union is so early in its battle to make the tel...
