But... I don't own a fat suit. Dammit, it's times like this that call for the B&J diet. I LIVE for times like this.
Break a leg.
Mine is already built in. LOL.
I'm just mad that 5'3" is the limit on height. Why is that? Mr. Shaiman can you fill us in? Tracy is me only 30 years ago, but alas I'm 5'6". Maybe if Link was 6'0" and my dream Edna were in the role I would not be too tall. Let's make it happen. Plus, if you are short and not 100lbs, you're going to look round. I don't think that the chick from American Idol is fat by any means, she's just not thin.
Anyone know the truth to Marissa also wearing some padding?

Do you mean Marissa? I don't think she wore padding.
But she was FANTASTIC.
sorry brain fart, yes Marissa, I was thinking of Dracula a minute before writing and mixed the 2 up. No I'm not a moron, just dumb sometimes.
If they wanted someone in a fat suit, they wouldn't be posting an open call stating "no experience necessary." They could have their pick of hundreds of thin girls. They are not looking for a thin girl. The reason Bean wore a fat suit was that she was the understudy. She did not have to be heavy for her ensemble role.

I read all this but maybe I missed the response...do you think they would even consider you for future reference if you sent in your resume? Because I don't think theres any way of me making it up to the city but I'm really interested

It sounds like perhaps you lack of transporation is an excuse (although I don't know how old you are so I could be wrong), but if you really wanted to go to this audition you would know that both Amtrak and Septa/NJ transit have direct routes to Penn Station and Port Authority. Many people take these trains to commute between Philly and NY. Also, yes, they did say they would accept resume submissions by mail. It's in the original "open call flyer"

I don't agree with you. Sometimes shows are looking for untapped raw talent..exampled by the fact that this is Carly Jibson's first professional/broadway run.
Hey people, I'm, not going but I have a question. If you do not meet the physical requirements aren't you still allowed to go anyway? I mean, if typing occurs you might get typed out or maybe you won't expect to get the part, but you can't you still go and get the experience of going ot an open call and singing for the people in the show? Or is that somehow considered rude b/c you are wasting their time?

I'm 17 and I have school/my mom has work...thats not an excuse--it's just whats up. I read that they'll accept resumes I just didn't know if they really would consider them, thats all

Yes - because she was what they are asking for here. She meets the physical requirements. Carly Jibson is proof positive of exactly what I said in my post.

I think it was pretty clear to the majority of the board that I was *gasp* kidding! I'm sorry if that's not acceptable behavior for this thread. I'll try to control myself in the future.
I wish that Kathy Brier would come back. That woman is amazing.
I saw her at Jamie Le Roy's Birthday bash and she blew me away.
When she started crying. I lost it.
She can sing.
Bring back Brier!

Carly Jibson is absolutely terrific. I will not have a single bad word said about her, even if only implied by exhortations to bring back predecessors.
