I'm hoping to catch a show in the city, preferably an Off-Broadway production as I have seen most of what's on Broadway. However, it's much harder to get information about Off-Bway productions. I was hoping you can help me out with some recommendations.
Recently, I've enjoyed Hamilton, Beautiful and Aladdin. I am open to musicals or plays.

Desperate Measures at New World Stages is very clever and a lot of fun! I'm not sure how much information is out there on it, but it did win quite a few awards (including some Drama Desks) last season.

^ My recommendation, too. Avenue Q & Jersey Boys play there as well, in case you never had a chance to see.

I was actually looking into Desperate Measures, but wasn't certain I would enjoy so wanted to ask some opinions here. Interesting the first two responses say it's a go.
I also noticed Carmen was sold out yesterday. Unfortunately, I do not think I will be able to watch it before the end of its run.

I would suggest Smokey Joe's Cafe or Avenue Q - Saw Smokey Joe's and the energy and talent are outta this world - two standing ovations during the show. Avenue Q is just fun - a lot of laughs - either way a great night !! Have fun!

It's not for everyone, but check out Afterglow if you can!

Posted: 8/8/18 at 7:19pmI must say that I did not expect Desperate Measures to be as fun and funny as it is. I was excited to hear the score ( which I now own) but the whole show is a blast.

Really? I haven't seem many good things about it on here, although from the description it doesn't sound too bad.
