I can't say I'm crushed that I won't get to see this on the 16th.
Especially because it leaves a spot open! I have to choose between Little Dog Laughed, Gutenberg! The Musical and The Wedding Singer. My first choice is Dog, but it looks like that won't last much longer either.

I just saw Gutenberg! The Musical! at opening night, last night - you should see it. It's hilarious - I really recommend it. I was on my own, but everybody else coming out of the theater was singing the songs and retelling the jokes to each other, and laughing hard - it's been ages since I saw a new musical that was catchy enough to do that. The talkinbroadway.com review gets the show perfectly: Chris Fitzgerald and Jeremy Shamos are the new Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick - they're truly fantastic, and I'll be shocked if they aren't up for some awards for this. Go see it - you'll laugh from beginning to end.
Here's the show website

Gutenberg is great. I caught a preview at 59E59 in addition to seeing it at NYMF earlier this season. Definitely see that. It's something totally unique that you'll never be able to see again. Although I know the current run is to gain interest in a commercial run, I can't imagine it has that much commercial appeal. Plus, it wouldn't work in a bigger space because of the hats.
Back to the thread topic, I caught the matinee of Mimi le Duck on Saturday. The music was actually pretty good, but the book and the design concept were both just out of control. Someone needed to be told no.
The main problems were that there were way too many subplots at the expense of the central characters and story. That said, it was great to see Eartha Kitt. She still has amazing legs at 79, and stole the show.
