I'm sure Steve hasn't seen it because everyone says Norbert gives Steve a run for his money in that role. Plus he's probably busy, though I don't know.
The part about them mentioning how he was having vocal problems and could hardly talk, and then him plopping his head down on a bag and continuously laying down made me feel bad. I bet he can't wait unitl his week off so he can actually get better.
Have fun DRS, but holy ****, can you please not use THAT many !!! the next time? There's absolutely no need for that many. We get the idea: you're excited.
I'm only posting right now because this is my 1,000th post and I am now officially a BWW BROADWAY LEGEND! Yay!
*Tosses confetti*
ETA: We're also only 5 posts away from hitting the 2,000 replied mark for this thread. Woo! Excuse me while I toss more confetti. Updated On: 6/27/05 at 02:56 AM
I'm flying in to NY Friday and seeing DRS Saturday night. I'm such a nerd. With all this talk about Norbert being sick and being out 2 weeks ago...I'm LITERALLY having nightmares that he won't be in the show Saturday.
I know I'll still like the show without him (my roommate saw it w/ Joe Cassidy as Freddy and said it was fantastic), but...sigh! I will be so disappointed.
I know I'm a Norberr geek when I'm actually in FEAR of not seeing him....lol.
You both should consider yourselves lucky you even got a picture with him, no matter how crappy you think you look. I'm 99.9% sure I won't get one with him at all.
He and John have become Kristin/Idina-like divas, I love it!
I don't necessarily think it's a "diva" thing (even though I realize you said you were j/k), but more of a "we need to get you guys outta here ASAP so just sign and go so people aren't blocking the door" - heh.
If any of you think I've been acting like a bitch lately, sorry. It's been a long week and it's only just begun!
Oh well. There's nothing we can do about it, is there? Wether Mr. Martin goes to see the show or not is beyond our control so there's no point in any of us getting all huffy about it. LOL
And yes, Norbert is astounding in TL5Y. I've been listening to "Nobody Needs To Know" on repeat while I sleep the last few nights.
I wondered how he felt about Norbert Leo Butz winning the Tony Award a few weeks ago. Without a pause, he replied, "Has anyone ever deserved it more? I just thought: 'yay!'"
Honestly, who DIDN'T think that? If there was one person going against Norbert for the Tony (besides the hardcore Python fans, I'm sure).. I'll be shocked.
Plus the background of the planets is from "3rd Rock from the Sun".
OMG! I hadn't even connected the planets to 3rd Rock. I'm so dumb sometimes. So we've got 3rd Rock, Shrek, and DRS (the martini glasses) all up in that painting. Nice.
If Norbert ever gets one, I wonder what will be on it.
I probably would have gotten a signed picture in the mail if I hadn't sent Norbert my TL5Y CD booklet to be signed instead. Plus, he got Sherie to sign it, too (on my request - which means he read the letter!). That made me happy.
All of this good stuff I keep hearing about Light in the Piazza is just making me even more excited to see it. The fact that I'm sitting closer for that (3rd row!) than I am for DRS (front row mezz) worries me a bit, though. Haha.
I haven't heard the entire Piazza CD, but I have 6 songs (Matt Morrison's songs, of course ) plus what I've heard on the showtunes channel and the song that they did at the Tonys. But everything I've heard I love.
Just adding to the love! I had the HUGE pleasure of seeing the Amazing Mr. Butz perform in Friday night's show and he just radiated on stage. This man brims with talent and presence - and he's so lovely at the stage door!
Oh, and btw, for all interested Sherie also came out Friday night and signed...
Rosencrantz: "Be happy - if you're not even HAPPY what's so good about surviving? We'll be all right. I suppose we just go on."
- from Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
Oh thank God. Because seriously, I can't watch his Kentertainment videos without wanting to beat my head into my desk because he (as the character) drives me up a WALL. No offense.
