Well, transferring to Broadway would have to come first. Beyond that, I think people tend to get them in June?

Also, I know the Times liked it, but it got some really negative reviews as well, and audience feedback seems mixed. So even if this does take the Kerr as has been rumored, I don't think it's a done deal even in this weak year for musicals. Tootsie's reviews out of Chicago felt stronger to me than North Country's, though of course it's a pretty apples to oranges comparison. I haven't seen either, so I truly have no skin in the game.

I really enjoyed this in London, but while I thought the music was enjoyable (especially Sheila Atim, man alive), I also thought the music was incredibly unnecessary for the story, which just felt confusing as a whole.

I saw this on Saturday night and during Act Two I started to actively root for a murder-suicide so I could go home. Regardless, if this transfers Mare Winningham has the Best Featured Actress in a Musical Tony locked up.

I am still blown away that this show is getting raves.

I don't know about that. Sarah Stiles in Tootsie is stopping the show (more than once) with her hilarious performance every night in the Chicago tryout.

Sarah Stiles has a better chance, because her show will actually be on Broadway.

Posted: 10/2/18 at 12:55pmThe show was brilliant in London and its brilliant at the Public. Of course it will transfer, and yes, it will win a lot of Tonys. No, it won't be everyone's cup of tea (neither was the Band's Visit). Incidentally, Shirely Henderson in London won the lead Oliver award for the role Mare Winnigham is currently playing, so I suspect Winningham will be campaigned as lead, not supporting.
