Overall: "Any Moment/Moments in the Woods" - Into the Woods.
Lately: "Move on" from Sunday in the Park
What can I say? I'm a sucker for the carpe diem theme!
Rosencrantz: "Be happy - if you're not even HAPPY what's so good about surviving? We'll be all right. I suppose we just go on."
- from Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
All of the ones mentioned I agree with. One that hasn't been mentioned yet: "Losing My Mind" from FOLLIES which has to be the most neurotic love song ever written.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks." Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Giants in the Sky with the Original guy. I can't get enough of his voice. Can't remember his name at the moment though.
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
But there are sooo many. I have a very strong attraction to "Sorry-Grateful", just because everytime I listen to it I think about how damn good the lyrics are and it just reminds me how much I love my Sondheim. <3
