Despite Cameron Mackintosh's numerous London revivals of Oliver!, he has not brought Oliver! to the Great White Way yet. However, if he did, who would be in your dream cast? My Nancy would by Lindsay Mendez.
I think RW3 meant the 2009 London revival. And wow, 29 performances?!
Didn't he express interest in bringing it back to Broadway last year?

Krysta Rodriguez as Nancy. But the Sophie Okonedo drug addict interpretation, not the Shani Wallis high school cheerleader interpretation.
Michael Cerveris as Bill Sykes
Len Cariou as Fagin
Rowan Atkinson as Fagin
Samantha Barks as Nancy
Will Swenson as Bill Sykes

What sunk the revival was Patti LuPone's overblown Nancy. Nobody paid to see the show because they could see LuPone as far as Sheboygan.

Mackintosh tried to bring his 1995 revisal of the show to Broadway, but hit a snag when AEA would not let him pay all the children in the workhouse scene (who appear only in the first 10 minutes of the show) at a lower rate. It made the show financially impossible to succeed. SO he opted for a non equity tour of the show in the early 2000s. I saw it in Boston and it was VERY good.

How about they don't bring it back EVER.
It's over done.
Here's the commercial from the revival with LuPone as Nancy which makes it look like Fagin, Nancy and Oliver are one big happy family.

The Sean Kenny set is still one of the wonders of the theatrical world. I wish they would start using it again.
I wish I could have seen LuPone in that. Her rendition of "As Long As He Needs Me" is the only one that I've ever loved.

As far as I know it has had only one (short-lived) revival on Broadway so not exactly sure of the logic or accuracy of the CarlosAlberto comment about it being overdone?
I meant that Cam Mackintosh keeps doing it over and over and over.
LuPone's vocals made me love all of the score that Nancy sings. The rest - bleh.
LuPone was a majestic Nancy! And Linsday Mendez is not a bad idea at all!!

CarlosAlberto - agreed he does but that wasn't the gist of the thread. You would have a point if we were talking about a London revival.
