Regardless of what everyone has said, I had to see it for myself. So I went.

I actually enjoyed it. I was never bored - probably because I was so confused by it all, but oddly entertained.

The music is pretty, but never really settled for me. Nothing really stuck. Maybe it's because of the chaotic scenery or strange direction, but it didn't really stand-out to me like everyone has said it should.

I didn't think Harry was bad. The audience was eating him up, and I think he was enjoying himself - maybe because he knew it would all be over soon.

MUELLER IS AMAZING. I wish they had cut the David Turner character (I hated him. He was way too slight, and just was a bad actor. He didn't seem likable in the least. And his voice was just "eh." Nothing as great as the voices surrounding him.) I would like to see what she would have done with the two characters, and if she could switch her voice to sound more contemporary, etc.

I was appalled at Alyssa Umphrees. Now she looked over it the entire time. Even at the curtain call she just shrugged it all off. Do you know how many people would kill to be where you are? And wouldn't care that they were in a flop, etc? Everything she did tonight was half-assed. It just made me really pissed. Sorry. End of rant, ha.

I'm glad you went to see for yourself! I thought Umphress looked bored as well, but I thought it was just because she was so sorely underused in this production.

I don't care if she's being used at all. She still was cast in the production and making money and doing what she wants. She should at least appear to be slightly happy.

I was waiting for a moment where I could say "Oh, that's why she was cast," but they didn't really do anything with her. Not sure why she was even cast, but whatever. She should still be grateful.

Proves how insane producers are....willing to lose millions in the hopes that they will get Tony nominations!!!! They may get 1 or 2.....the show will have closed and been long forgotten by Tony time. Will those gorgeous sets and costumes garner any? Just close this piece of crap and move on. And that commercial-oy. Big time ill conceived Flop.

Alysha Umphress appeared "over it" in American Idiot as well, except for when she was singing "Too Much Too Soon" (aka the song she sang mostly by herself with Theo Stockman and then whoever replaced him when he left). She has a great voice but I don't understand why she keeps getting cast in things and then stands there appearing to not give a crap.

The sad part is, she probably made more money in this limited run then she would have made in 4 months doing Silence!

I just don't understand the need to have the gay undertones in the show. I would have loved to see the acting challenge of a girl having to play both roles. I mean, it adds in a few more "the girl within the gay guy" jokes, but there's nothing in the music that supports that really. And it's never really confronted by the Doctor. He just brushes it off quickly saying he isn't gay and only into the girl. So..... there's not much drama there. The ending was a like wonky too.
