Once *Isn't* Enough
#25Combo of Broadway and off-Broadway
Posted: 2/26/06 at 5:10pmI saw Sweeney Todd at a Wednesday Matinee with Angela and George Hearn. Len Cariou had just left the production I think. I was 18 years old. I had already been in a school for the arts and had seen a number of shows on Broadway. But on that afternoon as that show ended with the last note, I was stunned and so exhilirated that I could not move. I did not realize I had sat there in the Uris Theater (Now the Gershwin) staring at the stage for so long after the show ended that the theater had emptied and the ushers were starting to prepare for the evening show. I had to be asked to leave! I want that moment back.

Uncageg, that sounds amazing!
I saw All Shook Up 14 times, and I wish I could've seen it tons more. I miss it.
I'm dying to see Hairspray again. I've seen it...4 times I think, and am planning on going this week, when I go back to NYC! :)

Posted: 2/26/06 at 6:40pmIt was quite amazing popular_elphie! I couldn't shake the show for months! Just changed a lot about what I thought about theatre. It was Sondheim. And I was a Sondheim virgin at the time. I was changed!

I never saw a show twice, but if I were to have the chance, I'd see the current Sweeney revival in a heartbeat.
uncageg-wow...just wow. I'd probably would've done the same thing.

Posted: 2/26/06 at 6:55pmPhantom of the Opera. Not just because it's great, but because there are so many ways you can interpret the characters and whatnot.
