Once Rush?

I jus rushed this morning, based on this and other threads I thought that I'd have to get there super-duper early, so I got in line at 6AM, and was the only person til about 6:45AM. After that the line grew sort of steadily, by the time the box office opened, the line was indeed almost all the way to Other Desert Cities.

I got Orch A9, which is listed as partial view. How bad is it (or is it just one of those you miss one or two things)?

Home by 11 (after dropping off my chair at my storage unit with is on the way home), and in bed til about 1:30 :)

To answer my own question - A9 may well be the worst seat in the house (but the show was great, so I really didn't care). You miss most of the projections of translation into Czech/English as appropriate of what Girl is saying (one of which I didn't miss but was extremely important - but if I didn't know it was sort of there I wouldn't have craned to look for it).

The problem is that there's an actor sitting right on the edge of stage right for the majority of the show, so seeing most anything upstage presents a problem.

I'll definitely see the show again and buy at TKTS or something for a full view seat. It was that good.

I didn't know there were Czech/English projections until I saw it during the mother's story (I was in the box seats). When else during the show do they use the translations? Now I feel like I missed something Once Rush?

Whenever any of the Czech people are speaking to each other in Czech, which is fairly often. As long as you knew that they were speaking in Czech, you really didn't miss much, unless you can read Czech of course. There's one line where the projection is incredibly important so I hope you didn't miss that one. I won't spoil it though in case someone hasn't seen it.

Yeah, the subtitles are mostly used as a way to differentiate when the Czech characters are speaking Czech and when they are speaking English. The only real important scene with subtitles is the one in Act 2.

Has anybody tried rushing on a Sunday? I'm curious about what time to get there with the noon box office opening time.

This past Sunday we tried the rush and arrived about 11:15 am. They sold out of tickets about 10 people in front of us. So it seems to be a little more calm, but you probably would want to get there 1.5 hours before opening at least to try to hep your chances.

Bumping this thread. I plan to rush the show this coming Sunday. The box offices opens at noon. With tony buzz now, what would be the best time to get to the theatre?

Can someone enlighten me as to the mentality of people who get in the rush line when it's already in front of the Booth? I mean, I'm totally thrilled that so many people want tickets. But do they actually think that they're selling that many rush seats? Or do they just want to buy regular tickets at the box office?

Who knows. At Death of a Salesman, someone from the box office staff comes out at 8 and gives the people in line wristbands based on the amount of rush tickets they're selling that day. This way, the people who are not going to get tickets don't have to wait two additional hours to not get tickets. When I went last Friday, I was the last person to get rush tickets in line which also left me with the job of telling everyone who arrived after the wristbands were handed out that the rush was essentially over and that they wouldn't get tickets. You'd be shocked at how many people angrily didn't believe me and acted like I was trying to trick them or something. I'm not really sure what they thought I had to gain from lying to them. I was already in front of them in line. I, for one, think it's an AWESOME way to do rush for a show that is really popular. Even if I had not gotten tickets, I would have been 90% less bitter about that had I found out I wasn't getting tickets at 8. Then you can go home or go to another show for tickets.

If I'm looking to rush the show on a weekday, how early do I need to get there? I was planning on getting there at 8:30. Is that too late?

Based on facebook statuses from some people I know who have gone recently...people have been lining up well before 7 AM.

If it's anything like it was this past week and I assume nothing's changed substantially, 8:30 is too late.

Thanks for the advice. Maybe I'll try 7. Or just splurge on a full price ticket.

Broadwaybox still has a discount. I'm not sure how much longer that will last if sales continue to be strong but it's up now.

Rushed this morning for tonight's performance, got there at 6am and was in the first 5. At around 7am, there were already 12 people, which I think is how many people get tickets. At 10am, there were already about 50 people waiting helplessly.

So for a weekday current it looks like 4 hours in advance the way to go for tickets for the most part. So I guess for a sunday bo opening I should be fine 8:00 or before.
Does anyone know if they take credit at rush or just cash?

Cash only. For a Sunday honestly you'll want to be there before 8.

I am coming from north jersey and the earliest train is 6:45, which gets in at 7:30. If i get there a little before 8, i definitely will not get tickets? If thats true I have friends i can stay with but just want to make sure

Phan - weird I kind of remember cash only but I could be mixing it up with another rush.

And I would guess getting there at 8 would be too late on any day so I'd make alternative arrangements.
