Forever? Didn't 2ST just move in to the Helen Hayes last season?

"

OK, so not exactly forever. If you must be pedantic, I acquired the ticket on June 17 (just looked through my records). Much prior to knowing anything about the set.

I have a ticket for D-107 that I've had forever (I'm a 2ST subscriber). Should I attempt to change it? Is it that bad of a view? I'm 5'10" so I think I'll be fine, but anyone who's seen it I'd love to hear.......

I have to agree - saw this last night and an excellent evening of theater. I hope that this play gets produced again somewhere...
Bare Rush?

From my experience at NWS (not necessarily this show), if you show up 30 minutes before the box office opens, you'd probably *still* be the first in line.

But maybe THDavis could enlighten us as to when people started showing up and how many.

People commenting on shirts (outside the theater)?

Yeah, and I should note that she's a woman.

BBAJ == Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Easier to type than full title, and I'm assuming you're not a troll - though the person that truly misinformed you certainly is
People commenting on shirts (outside the theater)?

I find this odd - my BBAJ t-shirt tends to attract a lot of comments when I wear it around town. For instance, just this last weekend, I went to go get my hair cut, and I was leaving, the barber did a double-take and asked what it was all about (I personally think that it's a great piece of theater, sad to see what happened to it). Note that I'm fat, so maybe it's the juxtaposition of a skinny guy wearing skinny jeans on a fat guy? Who knows. Not the first time it's happened either. Anyone ever
Is Spiderman still getting bad reviews? I really enjoyed it!
 Aug 31 2012, 07:31:35 PM
Same here - I enjoyed Spiderman 2.0 much more than I thought I would. I saw 1.0 and was bored out of my mind - it was HORRIBLE! Since it was an option at TKTS on my staycation, I figured ah, what the heck, I'll try it again.

Part of it may have been that I rushed thh first time and had a fairly bad seat - second row of the balcony all the way to the side. The second time, I was on house left in the orchestra, about 3 seats in and 10 rows back (one row behind were Spidey lands at the en

What is going in RENT's place at NWS?
 Jul 10 2012, 07:37:42 AM
With RENT closing at NWS, what's going in there? Bullet for Adolf and Bare are both going into stage 4 from what I can tell, so what's going in 1?

I'm not delusional, but I want Fat Camp to go there! :)

How often do you go to the theatre?
 Jul 1 2012, 12:18:24 PM
I tend to see about a show a week, most of it off- or off-off Broadway - there's some real gems to be found there, but you also have to be prepared to sit through shows that don't exactly move you, but you can find some real gems out there. For example, I advise everyone that I know that has even the slightest interest in the theater (which is sadly not that many people) to drop everything and go see "Silence! The Musical" right now. I've only seen it once, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Once and the NO VIEW seat (A long rant)
 May 9 2012, 10:29:54 PM
I guess that I'm fortunate I live in NYC. If you look at my post at http://offoffbraodway.broadwayworld.com/board/readmessage.php?thread=1042848&boardname=&page=2&boardid=1#4259441 you'll find my experience in A9. Sorry I don't know how to make the link just clickable text, someone please PM me directions! Tried HTML-style tags, various other ways and no dice! Sad from a person who makes their living in tech.

I was fortunate enough to get a full view seat a few weeks later, and it really is a wonderful show. Sorry you didn't enjoy it. Of course, I got a rush seat, and paid $26.50 for it and it was advertised partial view. And no Hoovers fell during that performance, they were properly stowed :)

Once Rush?

To answer my own question - A9 may well be the worst seat in the house (but the show was great, so I really didn't care). You miss most of the projections of translation into Czech/English as appropriate of what Girl is saying (one of which I didn't miss but was extremely important - but if I didn't know it was sort of there I wouldn't have craned to look for it).

The problem is that there's an actor sitting right on the edge of stage right for the majority of the show, so seeing most a

Weekday ONCE Rush - what time do you have to get there in the morning?
 Apr 7 2012, 03:01:52 PM
I was the guy who got there at 6AM :) Got Orch A9 for this evening. Not sure how front row will be, but do post what you thought of the show!
Once Rush?
 Apr 7 2012, 02:28:00 PM
I jus rushed this morning, based on this and other threads I thought that I'd have to get there super-duper early, so I got in line at 6AM, and was the only person til about 6:45AM. After that the line grew sort of steadily, by the time the box office opened, the line was indeed almost all the way to Other Desert Cities.

I got Orch A9, which is listed as partial view. How bad is it (or is it just one of those you miss one or two things)?

Broadway Lottery Shows

Regrets- off broadway

I was sitting right behind you :)

I made the comment that the show is universal after the gentleman said that the show can't ever find an audience outside of those who were alive at the time. I'm 33 and it resonated with me!

Saw the matinee today, I thought it was incredible! Ansel Elgort (Caleb - the main character) has a commanding stage presence, which is uncommon for such a young actor (he's a senior in high school) - and that matter *a lot* for this character.

The rest of the cast (especially Adriane Lenox) pull the rest of it together and make this a play definitely worth seeing. I'd like to see more come of this play than the limited MTC run, I really think it could find an audience.

And to add to everything that broadwaydevil said, the tickets that you receive are stamped "Not for Resale" to prevent exactly this type of thing from happening.

I assume if they knew that the tickets were resold, they could void them since they explicitly state they are not for resale.

Perhaps slightly OT - Amex Ticketmaster promo
 Mar 14 2012, 11:23:38 PM
I'm a slight sucker and have the Amex Platinum, which carries a $450 annual fee. However, in exchange for that, I get a host of benefits. First (and what I use whenever I travel) is airline lounge access to AA, Delta, and USAirways if I'm flying those airlines. Second is a $200 fee reimbursement from a single airline of my choosing (for things like checked bag fees, etc).

Then there's the concierge service, that will do basically anything you want them to. I asked them to find me locati

Perhaps slightly OT - Amex Ticketmaster promo
 Mar 14 2012, 12:44:50 AM
Amex is running a promo on twitter right now with Ticketmaster. The only reason that I mention it is that I picked up a ticket to JCS (I wanted orch seating and the discount code was no good for that) through Ticketmaster and this offer and got $50 off.

You need to sync your Amex card at https://sync.americanexpress.com/twitter

You then need to tweet something with the hash tag #AmexTix50 and now you're signed up for $50 a $100 purchase at Ticketmaster! Easy as pie! Got the discount even though the producer didn't wanna let me have it! Thanks Amex!
