"oh my god. tracy is unbelievable! "
You have GOT TO BE KIDDING.
She's passable. Her acting might get her by this one, but her voice is incredibly lacking.
Kathleen Marshall should not direct for TV - or film.
This is terrible so far.

i loved tracy's whole opening number and think she's fabulous. in fact, i'm really enjoying the whole thing so far!

Munk - sometimes it's ok to have a "just passable" voice. Get over it.
"The wizard and I" - oy!

No it's not okay to have just a passable voice. Too many millionaire singers have barely passable voices~_~
Although I for one really enjoyed Tracy's singing.
I'm waiting for Carol to start riffing Idina style now.

Haha, "The Wizard and I"!
I caught that as well.
It's enjoyable. Sometimes things need not be works of art to be enjoyable. This is supremely so, so far.
It is, most surely!

Lady Larkin has a nice voice, but she seems bored out of her skull when she's singing.

I don't like the music.
Carol is saving this movie. And Denis is good too!

that "swamps of home" scene, i don't know what to even make of it. i think i'm enjoying it because i wasn't expecting anything, you know?
and then, that's EXACTLY what i was thinking.. especially after reading so many reviews of her "stellar" performance.. but i'm not one to judge yet.
i thought it started at 8! i am so upset!!!! oh man i missed 45 minutes!
Denis doesn't have his little bald spot! Must be magic!

OK, this is really random but in the "Swamps of Home" scene, Tracey's hair/wig was tight curls and now in the scene where Carole Burnett is talking about the "Spanish Panic", her hair is messy again.
Wouldn't it be reversed the longer she's been at the castle?
I know... crazy picky....

Though I'm enjoying the material and the performances, it's another dreadfully filmed television production: poorly staged, framed, lit, and edited. Awful, awful, awful!

i mean. how hilarious.
also, ibdb has this set of listings for the original production of ouam:
Alvin Theatre, (11/25/1959 - 2/22/1960)
Winter Garden Theatre, (2/24/1960 - 4/23/1960)
Cort Theatre, (4/25/1960 - 5/7/1960)
St. James Theatre, (5/9/1960 - 7/2/1960)
it never stayed more than 3 monts at the same theatre? i found that interesting. who would want to move around for 8 months? poor stage crew.
