It's not really weak material. It's nothing profound - but if directed and acted correctly and well - the show seems a lot more brilliant than it actually is.

Posted: 12/18/05 at 8:20pmThe original is not amazing material compared to MANY other shows, but compared to what they've done to it, it's amazing. They've just watered it down SO much to make it suitable for... I don't know... pre-school children?? I just think with such good material to start from, they could've done SO much better. They could have even IMPROVED the original... but this... just doesn't do the author's original material and intentions justice.

I guess Normandy will just be sung by the Jester?
...If they sing it at all...

They cut Normandy? Grrr. I love that freaking song.
If you don't like this version, please get the OBC with Carol. It's divine.

Normandy is actually a wonderful song.
Anybody else upset over the missing "Opening for a Princess", also?

I like the revival cast recording better, actually.
Denis O'Hare is SO miscast...

...I officially adore Denis O'Hare. And Matt Morrison. Well, we knew that last bit already, but whatevs.
Carol is just... Carol, fantastic as usual. Matt and Denis are both SO adorable (also as usual), I think Tracy is doing a fair job - just fair, and Zooey is gorgeous and I actually like her voice. This is so cute!!
