The thing with Lin-Manuel doing the Loud Hailer in Les Mis made me wonder how many other examples there are of performances like that, where a celebrity/well-known person does a cameo for one performance. The only others I can think of are:
-Mel Brooks as the Judge in The Producers
-Jason Alexander as the Doctor in Fish in the Dark
But I'm sure there must be others!

I'm pretty sure it was on The tour, but Dick Van Dyke did a one night cameo as a bank worker in Mary Poppins.

NY Mayor John Lindsay did a cameo in "Seeasw" in the 70's, stepping in for the first number ("My City"
for John Gavin, who looked very similar.

I remember hearing that Whooppi Goldberg joined the cast of the "Lion King" for one night.
