To be at the opening night of a good show - even a very good show - is certainly a terrific experience. But there are only so many times when history is made at an opening night, and everyone in the theater knows it.
My choice: Look Back in Anger, Royal Court, London, 1956.
Without a doubt, 2 of the most historic Opening Nights in the history of Broadway........."Mame" and "Funny Girl."
My Fair Lady. Hands down. I would kill to have seen that with Julie Andrews and the deliciously-voiced Rex Harrison on such a glamorous night!
