I miss Zoe also Over The Rainbow BBC TV

Was sad Bronte left until she sang 'over the rainbow' then i realised she wouldn't have made a good Dorothy. She just wasn't strong enough. I think Danielle will take it after this week. She seems the most hard working and dedicated.

^^what do you mean Danielle will take it after this week? I had to laugh when Emilie said she thought Danielle would be going because she is "one" sort of character. Danielle shows so much versatility. i think Dani said Danielle too. the girls see one another all week long though and see what they do and what kind of comments they get so maybe that had something to do with it. I still see Danielle as Dorothy for me and am not stuck on Stephanie but love Steph.

did you like John Barrowman as a judge?? I did for a few reasons.

What i mean about Danielle is she was always up there but there was other girls i think stood out also. After this week i think she is definately the front runner. John Barrowman... too clothed for me... i wanna see if the rumours are true lol.

JESSICA FOR THE WINNER!!!!!!!!

Such an incredible talent and I really hope she makes it all the way!

Jessica makes me chuckle. She has such amazing presence. We were saying the other day whilst she doesn't have the best voice in the contest her stage presence makes up for it... has the 'likability' they talk about!

what rumours about John??

Jessica makes me smile too, but not sure if she is right for Dorothy. she was a little off for me this past show.

ha ha! so is Lee Mead if his jeans on ADWD are anything to go by. looser jeans buddy!

- you know what would be funny? if a girl suspects she is going out and she puts something very funky in her shoes for Andrew to smell while he is sitting there with them in his lap. that looks so ridiculous!

I've just caught up with this on i-player. I thought Danni was terrible singing Maybe This Time but then, after she was rejected, she did really well singing Over The Rainbow.

^well it didn't help that she was blubbering inside and it showed on the outside. having said that, again jessica and emilie got through. this is all weird right now. usually there is conistancy in the bottom. (remembering Maria) and then one finally goes. it has always been different with the wrong two in the bottom every week so far.

It is turning into X-Factor, where when somebody is in the bottom two one week, their fans are kicked into gear and they vote madly ensuring that they don't get in the bottom two again for a week or so.

I'd make a better Dorothy than Emilie.

Well, maybe not. But she does seem to be very wooden for someone who has made it into the top ten.

Emilie only got through as a wildcard though, so maybe there's been a concerted hometown-based campaign to vote for her which has carried her thus far? I definitely think she's a bit out of her depth though and I feel sorry for her in that she probably has been lead to believe she's better than she is. Hopefully she'll go and get some proper training and come back all the stronger for it - same goes for a few of the finalists.

FWIW I think Danielle suits the role of Dorothy best of those remaining, but I reckon the two breakout successes of this series will be Lauren and Steph - true triple-threat performers. I also think Jessica could have a great career given her expressive interpretations of certain numbers (albeit it also limits her all-round potential).

Just caught last night's show on iplayer and Danielle's performance was the first time this series that I was completely blown away by any of the contestants. A few weeks ago she came across as a timid 14 year old and all of a sudden she's a real contender for a leading lady.

Just watching the results and surprised that one of Jenny and Sophie wasn't in the bottom two. Didn't really see Stephanie's appeal, but both her and Steph have been more consistent performers.

I have to say how much I dislike the VT's playing the nationalism card - why should the whole of Wales vote for Sophie? And why should Charlotte Church even have to apologise for saying she doesn't think Sophie is Dorothy?

EDIT: Just re-watched Danielle's performance because I enjoyed it so much earlier. It's even more impressive second time round - a star is born methinks. I read about her being an early favourite and now I can see exactly why. Like ALW and JP I was smiling from ear-to-ear during her performance. She has amazing versatility and really inhabits whatever role she plays without seeming as self-consciously 'stagey' as others such as Lauren and Steph (who I both like btw).

Cannot believe Stephanie went. I really thought she could go all the way and win it.

Agree about danielle this week, it was like she'd finally dived in.
Very exciting to see a real breakthrough.

Really quite disappointed by the bottom 2, felt like the first time a potential winner was axed.

I love the song Mr. Bo Jangles and think Stephanie was fine with it. I love the lyric. Her song really had nothing to do with it IMO. I still think Jenny is one of the weakest all around as well as she can sing. and I don't think Jess actually did get the "acting" right on Cabaret either until near the end. that is emotion from the beginning, when you know the context it is sung in.

Danielle is still tops for me. tsk tsk Andrew on letting some who may not know that tracks are used in live theatre Over The Rainbow BBC TV

What you Brits don't ever get in your musical theatre acting is "less is more". Your "straight" actors know how to underplay marvelously, but with your musical actors you want them to sell it to the back of the theatre and then some. Jenny underplays everything beautifully. Lauren overacted "The Man Who Got Away" (though sang it beautifully) to the point I wanted to slap her. Yet the judges went overboard. And they don't appreciate what Jen does. Watch her. Watch her subtlety. She's amazing.
