Michelle probably stipulated in her contract that she got to keep her costumes---like Glenn Close did with 102 Dalmations (those were some KILLER costumes).

So, why can't I wear a suit if I buy it?
And does anyone know James Marsden's sizes?!?

I am sure you could- but don't photograph yourself in it for public use.
I think thats what they mean.
Plus some costumes might not hold up.

Thats why I think some of the costumes are prototypes. They may not be exactly functional for daily use.
Take a look at Amber's "sun dess" from You Cant Stop The beat. The dress is clearly not the same one in the production still. The one that does resemble the production photo is in the window display at Ann Taylors in Times Square.

Posted: 7/19/07 at 4:21pmYeah. I can tell. But could you still wear them like for Halloween? I was also wondering if you could re-sell it. I won't if I win but I am just asking.

Posted: 7/19/07 at 4:23pmYou can sell whatever you want. If you really want to wear something, which I wouldn't because I would want to keep it perfect, you can. I want the bobblehead and whoopie cushion.

The Edna skirt from the beginning of "Welcome to the 60's" is not the actual one. You can tell from the bottoms. The stripes don't match: in the still, there is a dark green stripe on the end. On the costume it is light green.
Also, is the "Welcome to the 60's" final dress the actual one? The neck looks different.

I want Amanda's YCSTB dress so badly! That thing is beautiful. I wouldn't mind the plaid dress either.
Do you guys think Hairspray is going to get a Costume Design Oscar nomination?
It was awesome. - theaterkid1015

Posted: 7/19/07 at 4:31pmim thinking you could make all the britney snow outfits look liek they do in the production stills by adding an underskirt to poof them out. Im sure thats what they used in the movie...

I dunno. Its quite possible.
I'm looking at Golden Globes in Hairspray's future though.
'Pirates' may get a nom
The Golden Compass
Sweeney Todd
I'd say there is a good chance of it happening. Rita has been nominated before. But Sweeney's Colleen Atwood is an Academy favorite.

Posted: 7/19/07 at 5:50pmlol. The autographed poster photos won't work. I could probably fit into Tracy and Edna's and Link's clothes. Maybe a couple more.
