This makes me so happy! this musical is so amazing and under-appreciated. Anyone else think Jessie Mueller might be cast as Lucille?
I'd bet on Kelli O'Hara. She's a favorite of his. Jessie is a little young for the role of Lucille, isn't she?
Based on Wikipedia's info, Muller is about 31 and Carolee was about 37 when she did Parade. That's not too much of a difference. Plus, I think Andrea Burns was about 30 when she played Lucille on tour.
I don't really see Kelli O'Hara as Lucille. I mean, if she were cast she would do a great job, but I don't think she's quite right for the role.

I didn't think Kelli was 'quite right' for Francesca-and she proved me wrong. I think she'd be an interesting choice as Lucille. The character reads older than Mueller does, at least to me.

Lucille and Leo Frank should both be / read around 30, if you are wanting to be accurate to the historical events.
The character also reads older not only because that is just how people were at the time, but she was also a proper, southern jewish woman who was also pretty emotionally distant and also was incredibly strong.
O'Hara is wrong wrong wrong for Lucille.

Okay okay okay. But I also think Mueller is wrong. She reads about 25.
How about Laura Benanti? Or Betsy Wolfe?
LAURA. BENANTI.
Jeremy Jordan??? Really? This role calls for an Actor.
I'd love to see Andrea Burns as Lucille.
Can't we just have Carolee come back as Lucille?
^ This
I seriously doubt this will happen due to his schedule, I would love to see Bertie repeat his performance as Leo!
BTW: Calling it now: This is leading up to a revival.

Mueller would be fantastic.. And period garb would age her up a couple years. But again' if I recall correctly, the events of the plot would occur in Lucille's late 20s til around 30. Leo is a couple years older.
Benanti could do it, but doesn't excit me in the least. Wolfe would be far more interesting to me.
Would be great to hear Carolee sing the revised score.
This show does more than deserve a revival, in one of the larger off-Broadway houses,
I think it works best if Lucille isn't a classic beauty (that eliminates Missy B.
How about Alexandra Silber?
(Even though she's a beauty)

Stephanie J Block as Lucille please! Max Von Essen would be absolutely phenomenal as Leo also. (and it is one of his dream roles....)
There are very few things in this world that will ever excite me more than this news. All of you should take note that I would slap Patti LuPone for a ticket to this show. *SWOON* I have been waiting forever for someone to make a serious go of this show, and I cannot wait!
I seriously doubt this will happen due to his schedule, I would love to see Bertie repeat his performance as Leo!
Bertie Carvel did a great Leo, but he's almost certainly too pre-occupied with Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell to have time for this.
